There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land.

There will always be poor people in the land. So I’m commanding you to give freely to those who are poor and needy in your land. Open your hands to them.

For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you,‘ You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

There will always be some in the land who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share freely with the poor and with other Israelites in need.

要知道，你們總是有窮人與你們在一起，但你們不總是有我。

我們從這一點就知道了愛：基督為我們捨棄了自己的生命，我們也應該為弟兄捨棄生命。但如果有人擁有世界的財產，看見自己的弟兄有需要，卻封閉情感，那麼，屬神的愛怎麼能住在他裡面呢？孩子們哪，讓我們不在語言或口頭上相愛，而在行為和真理中相愛，

富人和窮人有一相同之處：他們都是耶和華所造的。

於是那一群信徒都同心合意，沒有一個人說他所擁有的哪樣東西是自己的；相反，他們凡物共有。使徒們大有能力地為主耶穌的復活做見證，並且在他們每個人身上都有極大的恩典。他們當中沒有一個缺乏的人，因為凡是擁有田產或房屋的人，都賣掉了那些東西，把所賣得的錢拿來，放在使徒們的腳前，按照各人的需要分給每個人。

其中有一個名叫阿伽布斯的站起來，藉著聖靈指明普天下將有大饑荒。這事在凱撒克勞迪時期果然發生了。於是門徒們決定，每個人照著自己的能力來捐獻，好送到住在猶太的弟兄們那裡。他們就這麼做了，由巴拿巴和掃羅經手，把所捐獻的送到長老們那裡。

你們當賣掉自己所擁有的，施捨給人，為自己預備不會破舊的錢包和沒有窮盡的財寶在天上；在那裡盜賊不能靠近，也沒有蟲咬蝕。

在患難的極大考驗中，他們的喜樂之滿和貧窮之深都流露出來，歸入他們慷慨之心的財富。因為我可以見證他們是按著自己的能力，甚至超過了自己的能力，甘心樂意，用許多乞求的話，懇請我們在對聖徒的服事上給與他們恩准和分享的機會；他們不但照我們所盼望的，而且照著神的旨意，首先把自己獻給了主，又獻給了我們。我們於是勸提多，他怎樣開始了這恩惠之事，就當照樣在你們那裡把它完成；而且你們怎樣在信仰、言語、知識、殷勤和你們對我們的愛心上都豐足有餘，你們也當怎樣在這恩惠之事上豐足有餘。我說這話不是出於命令，而是要藉著別人的殷勤來考驗你們愛的真誠，因為你們知道我們主耶穌基督的恩典：他雖然富足，卻為你們成了貧窮，好使你們藉著他的貧窮可以成為富足。

有人求你，你要給他；有人要向你借什麼，你不要拒絕。

他們變賣財產和產業，按照各人的需要分給大家。
