你們不可像他們那樣事奉耶和華你的神。

這樣，我必使你的淫蕩和你從埃及地沾染的淫亂離開你，你的眼必不仰望他們，你也必不再懷念埃及。

“你到了耶和華你的神要賜給你的那地的時候，那些外族人可厭可惡的事，你不可學習去行。在你中間不可有人把自己的兒女獻作火祭（“把自己的兒女獻作火祭”直譯是“使自己的兒女經過進入火中”），也不可有占卜的、算命的、用法術的、行邪術的、

你進去取得他們的地，並不是因著你的義，也不是因著你心裡的正直，而是因著這些國的民的惡，耶和華你的神才把他們從你面前趕出去，為要實踐他向你的列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各，起誓應許的話。

所以，你們要謹守我的律例和典章；這一切可憎的事，無論是本地人或是在你們中間寄居的外人，一件都不可作（因為在你們以前住在那地的人，行了這一切可憎的事，就玷污了自己）；免得你們玷污那地，那地就把你們吐出去，像吐出了在你們以前的各民族一樣。無論甚麼人，行了一件這些可憎的事，必從自己的族人中被剪除。所以你們要謹守我的吩咐，免得你們行那些可憎的風俗，就是你們以前的人所行的，玷污了自己。我是耶和華你們的神。”

他行耶和華看為惡的事，隨從耶和華在以色列人面前趕走的列國所行可厭惡的事。

此外，所有的祭司長和人民也都大大地得罪神，隨從列國所行一切可憎的事；他們污穢了耶和華在耶路撒冷分別為聖的殿。

耶和華喜悅千千的公羊，或是萬萬的油河嗎？為我的過犯，我可以獻上我的長子嗎？為我的罪惡，獻上我親生的孩子嗎？

你不可把你的子孫獻給摩洛，也不可褻瀆你神的名；我是耶和華。

“你要對以色列人說：任何以色列人，或是在以色列中寄居的外人，把自己的兒子獻給摩洛，必要把他處死；本地的人要用石頭把他打死。

他行耶和華看為惡的事，好像耶和華在以色列人面前趕走的民族所行的可憎惡的事。

你們奉上供物，使你們的兒子經火，用你們的一切偶像玷污自己，直到今日。以色列家啊，我怎能讓你們向我求問呢？主耶和華說：我指著我的永生起誓：我決不讓你們向我求問。這是主耶和華的宣告。
