以上是以色列人被點閱的數目、共有六十萬零一千七百三十人。

『於是約瑟差遣弟兄們把父親雅各、以及一切親族、一共七十五個人、請了來。

你們先前雖像天上的星那麼多，現在剩下的、人數稀少了，因為你不聽永恆主你的上帝的聲音。

故此竟從一個人、又是彷彿死了的、生出子孫來，像天上的星辰那麼眾多，像海濱的沙那麼無數。
