These also are sayings of the wise. To have respect of persons in judgment is not good.

and said to the judges, Consider what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for Jehovah; and he is with you in the judgment.

And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.

The fear of man bringeth a snare; But whoso putteth his trust in Jehovah shall be safe.

For Jehovah your God, he is God of gods, and Lord of lords, the great God, the mighty, and the terrible, who regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward.

Rob not the poor, because he is poor; Neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:For Jehovah will plead their cause, And despoil of life those that despoil them.

If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates; then shalt thou arise, and get thee up unto the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose;and thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days: and thou shalt inquire; and they shall show thee the sentence of judgment.And thou shalt do according to the tenor of the sentence which they shall show thee from that place which Jehovah shall choose; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they shall teach thee:

Their hands are upon that which is evil to do it diligently; the prince asketh, and the judge is ready for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth the evil desire of his soul: thus they weave it together.The best of them is as a brier; the most upright is worse than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen, even thy visitation, is come; now shall be their perplexity.

Because I feared the great multitude, And the contempt of families terrified me, So that I kept silence, and went not out of the door—

And if ye call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to each man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning in fear:

If I have despised the cause of my man- servant or of my maid- servant, When they contended with me;What then shall I do when God riseth up? And when he visiteth, what shall I answer him?Did not he that made me in the womb make him? And did not one fashion us in the womb?If I have withheld the poor from their desire, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,

And Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is acceptable to him.

But Jehovah said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him: for Jehovah seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but Jehovah looketh on the heart.

They are waxed fat, they shine: yea, they overpass in deeds of wickedness; they plead not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, that they may prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.Shall I not visit for these things? saith Jehovah; shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

Woe to them that devise iniquity and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.And they covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away: and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks, neither shall ye walk haughtily; for it is an evil time.

for there is no respect of persons with God.

And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, and forbear threatening: knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no respect of persons with him.

Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at them, lest I dismay thee before them.

For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God take away life, but deviseth means, that he that is banished be not an outcast from him.

but even as we have been approved of God to be intrusted with the gospel, so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God who proveth our hearts.
