But how can I bear your problems and your burdens and your disputes all by myself?

But I can’t handle your problems and troubles all by myself. I can’t settle your arguments.

How can I bear by myself the weight and burden of you and your strife?

But you are such a heavy load to carry! How can I deal with all your problems and bickering?

But how can I bear your troubles, burdens, and disputes by myself?

How can I alone endure the burden and weight of you and your strife?

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,

To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things?

Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in.And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted.Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

Then You spoke in a vision to Your holy one, And said:“ I have given help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

So Moses said to the Lord,“ Why have You afflicted Your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid the burden of all these people on me?Did I conceive all these people? Did I beget them, that You should say to me,‘ Carry them in your bosom, as a guardian carries a nursing child,’ to the land which You swore to their fathers?Where am I to get meat to give to all these people? For they weep all over me, saying,‘ Give us meat, that we may eat.’I am not able to bear all these people alone, because the burden is too heavy for me.If You treat me like this, please kill me here and now— if I have found favor in Your sight— and do not let me see my wretchedness!”

“ And I spoke to you at that time, saying:‘ I alone am not able to bear you.

And so it was, on the next day, that Moses sat to judge the people; and the people stood before Moses from morning until evening.So when Moses’ father-in-law saw all that he did for the people, he said,“ What is this thing that you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit, and all the people stand before you from morning until evening?”And Moses said to his father-in-law,“ Because the people come to me to inquire of God.When they have a difficulty, they come to me, and I judge between one and another; and I make known the statutes of God and His laws.”
