we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws.

All Israel has broken your law and turned away, refusing to obey you. The promised curse written in the law of Moses, the servant of God, has been poured out on us because we have sinned against him.

Then your survivors will remember me among the nations where they are taken captive, how I was crushed by their promiscuous hearts that turned away from me and by their eyes that lusted after their idols. And I said: My God, I am ashamed and embarrassed to lift my face toward you, my God, because our iniquities are higher than our heads and our guilt is as high as the heavens.

I have not turned from your judgments, for you yourself have instructed me.

You are righteous concerning all that has happened to us, because you have acted faithfully, while we have acted wickedly.Our kings, leaders, priests, and ancestors did not obey your law or listen to your commands and warnings you gave them.

Watch out, brothers and sisters, so that there won’t be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.

let your eyes be open and your ears be attentive to hear your servant’s prayer that I now pray to you day and night for your servants, the Israelites. I confess the sins we have committed against you. Both I and my father’s family have sinned.We have acted corruptly toward you and have not kept the commands, statutes, and ordinances you gave your servant Moses.Please remember what you commanded your servant Moses:“ If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the peoples.
