耶穌回應說：「你們不是看見了這一切嗎？我確實地告訴你們：這裡將絕不會有一塊石頭留在另一塊石頭上而不被拆下。」

「北方王的兒子們將發動戰爭，他們必招聚極大的軍團，洶湧而來，如洪水漫溢，縱橫穿越，一次次爭戰，直到南方王的堡壘。

我的力量如同瓦片一樣枯乾，我的舌頭緊貼在上顎；你把我放在死亡的塵土中。

又對他們說：「經上這樣記著：基督必須受難，然後在第三天從死人中復活，

至於我，當我從地上被舉起來的時候，就會吸引所有的人歸向我。」耶穌說這話是指自己將要怎樣死。眾人回答他：「我們從律法中聽到，基督是永遠長存的。你怎麼說『人子必須被舉起來』呢？這『人子』到底是誰？」

神使那位沒有罪的替我們成為罪，好使我們在他裡面成為神的義。

「天國好比一個君王，為自己的兒子預備婚宴。

我不再對你們多說了。要知道，世界的那掌權者就要來了，而他對我毫無作用。

他們將倒在刀口下，被擄到各國去。耶路撒冷將要被外邦人踐踏，直到外邦人的日期滿了。

他將與許多人訂立一個『七』之久的堅固盟約；而在半個『七』的時候，他將使祭物和供物止息。在那些可憎者的羽翼上，必出現一個帶來荒涼的人，直到那被註定的滅絕傾瀉在這帶來荒涼的人身上。」

看哪，你們的家要被廢棄成為荒場。

原來你們是為此蒙召的，因為基督也為你們受了苦害，給你們留下了榜樣，好讓你們追隨他的腳蹤。

王就發怒，派軍兵除滅那些凶手，燒毀了他們的城。

因為基督也曾一次為了贖罪而受苦，就是義的代替不義的，為要把你們帶到神的面前。照著肉身說，基督固然被處死了；但照著靈說，他卻得以復活了。

他決意舉全國之力而來，與南方王實現合約，又把自己的女兒嫁給他，為要毀滅他的國；但北方王的女兒卻不站在北方王的立場上，也不支持他。

「你們現在所看見的這些，當那些日子來到的時候，將不會有一塊石頭留在另一塊石頭上而不被拆下。」

因此，看哪，主必使幼發拉底河強盛的大水，就是亞述王和他所有的威勢，上漲淹沒他們，又上漲淹沒一切水道，漫過所有的河岸；

並且推出假見證人說：「這個人不斷地說褻瀆神的話語，反對這聖所和律法。我們曾聽到他說，這個拿撒勒人耶穌要拆毀這地方，也要改變摩西傳給我們的規矩。」

基督替我們成了詛咒，從律法的詛咒中救贖了我們，因為經上記著：「凡是被掛在木頭上的，都是被詛咒的。」

他在木頭上，以自己的身體親自擔當了我們的罪孽，好使我們既然向罪而死，就能向義而活；因他受的鞭傷，你們得了痊癒。

他說這話不是出於自己，只因他是當年的大祭司，就預言了耶穌要替全民族而死；而且不僅是替猶太民族死，也是要把神的那些四散的兒女都召集合一。
