Why should You be like a man astonished, Like a mighty one who cannot save? Yet You, O Lord, are in our midst, And we are called by Your name; Do not leave us!

O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies.

I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.

to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places,

that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.

And so it was, when they had finished eating the grass of the land, that I said:“ O Lord GOD, forgive, I pray! Oh, that Jacob may stand, For he is small!”

O Lord, though our iniquities testify against us, Do it for Your name’s sake; For our backslidings are many, We have sinned against You.

Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the greatness of Your mercy, just as You have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.”

How long, Lord? Will You be angry forever? Will Your jealousy burn like fire?Pour out Your wrath on the nations that do not know You, And on the kingdoms that do not call on Your name.

And may You hear the supplication of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear in heaven Your dwelling place; and when You hear, forgive.“ When anyone sins against his neighbor, and is forced to take an oath, and comes and takes an oath before Your altar in this temple,then hear in heaven, and act, and judge Your servants, condemning the wicked, bringing his way on his head, and justifying the righteous by giving him according to his righteousness.“ When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You, and when they turn back to You and confess Your name, and pray and make supplication to You in this temple,then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave to their fathers.“ When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, when they pray toward this place and confess Your name, and turn from their sin because You afflict them,then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on Your land which You have given to Your people as an inheritance.“ When there is famine in the land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers; when their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is;whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by all Your people Israel, when each one knows the plague of his own heart, and spreads out his hands toward this temple:then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and act, and give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know( for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men),

Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You?

“ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:‘ Now I will bring back the captives of Jacob, and have mercy on the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name—

We do not see our signs; There is no longer any prophet; Nor is there any among us who knows how long.O God, how long will the adversary reproach? Will the enemy blaspheme Your name forever?Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? Take it out of Your bosom and destroy them.

We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness And the iniquity of our fathers, For we have sinned against You.Do not abhor us, for Your name’s sake; Do not disgrace the throne of Your glory. Remember, do not break Your covenant with us.

But I acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned before the Gentiles, in whose sight I had brought them out.

Awake! Why do You sleep, O Lord? Arise! Do not cast us off forever.Why do You hide Your face, And forget our affliction and our oppression?For our soul is bowed down to the dust; Our body clings to the ground.Arise for our help, And redeem us for Your mercies’ sake.

then hear from heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive Your people who have sinned against You.

For behold, I begin to bring calamity on the city which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished, for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth,” says the Lord of hosts.’

to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

“ Therefore say to the house of Israel,‘ Thus says the Lord GOD:“ I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went.

Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth.Why should the Gentiles say,“ So where is their God?”

And may You hear the supplications of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and when You hear, forgive.

Doubtless You are our Father, Though Abraham was ignorant of us, And Israel does not acknowledge us. You, O Lord, are our Father; Our Redeemer from Everlasting is Your name.O Lord, why have You made us stray from Your ways, And hardened our heart from Your fear? Return for Your servants’ sake, The tribes of Your inheritance.Your holy people have possessed it but a little while; Our adversaries have trodden down Your sanctuary.We have become like those of old, over whom You never ruled, Those who were never called by Your name.

You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come.For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, And show favor to her dust.So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord, And all the kings of the earth Your glory.For the Lord shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory.

Oh, do not remember former iniquities against us! Let Your tender mercies come speedily to meet us, For we have been brought very low.Help us, O God of our salvation, For the glory of Your name; And deliver us, and provide atonement for our sins, For Your name’s sake!Why should the nations say,“ Where is their God?” Let there be known among the nations in our sight The avenging of the blood of Your servants which has been shed.

Nevertheless I withdrew My hand and acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the Gentiles, in whose sight I had brought them out.

Do not be furious, O Lord, Nor remember iniquity forever; Indeed, please look— we all are Your people!Your holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.Our holy and beautiful temple, Where our fathers praised You, Is burned up with fire; And all our pleasant things are laid waste.Will You restrain Yourself because of these things, O Lord? Will You hold Your peace, and afflict us very severely?

But I acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned before the Gentiles among whom they were, in whose sight I had made Myself known to them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt.
