主啊！求你垂听。主啊！求你赦免。主啊！求你应允而行。我的神啊！为了你自己的缘故，求你不要耽延。因为你的城和你的子民都是称为你名下的。”

主啊，求你垂听！主啊，求你赦免！主啊，求你留心听并且行动！我的神哪，为你自己的缘故，求你不要迟延，因为你的城和你的子民都是被称为你名下的。”

求主垂聽，求主赦免，求主應允而行，為你自己不要遲延。我的神啊，因這城和這民都是稱為你名下的。」

O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God, because thy city and thy people are called by thy name.

Why should you be like someone who is helpless, like a champion who cannot save anyone? You are indeed with us, and we belong to you. Do not abandon us!”

Listen attentively, my God, and hear! Open your eyes and look on our desolated ruins and the city called by your name. For it is not because of our own righteous deeds that we are praying to you, but because your compassion is abundant.

I tell you, even though the man inside will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of the first man’s sheer persistence he will get up and give him whatever he needs.

The purpose of this enlightenment is that through the church the multifaceted wisdom of God should now be disclosed to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly realms.

so that we, who were the first to set our hope on Christ, would be to the praise of his glory.

When they had completely consumed the earth’s vegetation, I said,“ Sovereign LORD, forgive Israel! How can Jacob survive? He is too weak!”

Then I said,“ O LORD, intervene for the honor of your name even though our sins speak out against us. Indeed, we have turned away from you many times. We have sinned against you.

Please forgive the iniquity of this people according to your great loyal love, just as you have forgiven this people from Egypt even until now.”

How long will this go on, O LORD? Will you stay angry forever? How long will your rage burn like fire?Pour out your anger on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the kingdoms that do not pray to you!

Respond to the request of your servant and your people Israel for this place. Hear from inside your heavenly dwelling place and respond favorably.“ When someone is accused of sinning against his neighbor and the latter pronounces a curse on the alleged offender before your altar in this temple, be willing to forgive the accused if the accusation is false.Listen from heaven and make a just decision about your servants’ claims. Condemn the guilty party, declare the other innocent, and give both of them what they deserve.“ The time will come when your people Israel are defeated by an enemy because they sinned against you. If they come back to you, renew their allegiance to you, and pray for your help in this temple,then listen from heaven, forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them back to the land you gave to their ancestors.“ The time will come when the skies are shut up tightly and no rain falls because your people sinned against you. When they direct their prayers toward this place, renew their allegiance to you, and turn away from their sin because you punish them,then listen from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Certainly you will then teach them the right way to live and send rain on your land that you have given your people to possess.“ The time will come when the land suffers from a famine, a plague, blight and disease, or a locust invasion, or when their enemy lays siege to the cities of the land, or when some other type of plague or epidemic occurs.When all your people Israel pray and ask for help, as they acknowledge their pain and spread out their hands toward this temple,then listen from your heavenly dwelling place, forgive their sin, and act favorably toward each one based on your evaluation of his motives.( Indeed you are the only one who can correctly evaluate the motives of all people.)

Will you stay mad at us forever? Will you remain angry throughout future generations?Will you not revive us once more? Then your people will rejoice in you!

“ Therefore this is what the sovereign LORD says: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob, and I will have mercy on the entire house of Israel. I will be zealous for my holy name.

We do not see any signs of God’s presence; there are no longer any prophets and we have no one to tell us how long this will last.How long, O God, will the adversary hurl insults? Will the enemy blaspheme your name forever?Why do you remain inactive? Intervene and destroy him!

LORD, we confess that we have been wicked. We confess that our ancestors have done wrong. We have indeed sinned against you.For the honor of your name, do not treat Jerusalem with contempt. Do not treat with disdain the place where your glorious throne sits. Be mindful of your covenant with us. Do not break it!

I acted for the sake of my reputation, so that I would not be profaned before the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.

Rouse yourself! Why do you sleep, O Lord? Wake up! Do not reject us forever!Why do you look the other way, and ignore the way we are oppressed and mistreated?For we lie in the dirt, with our bellies pressed to the ground.Rise up and help us! Rescue us because of your loyal love!

then listen from your heavenly dwelling place to their prayers for help, vindicate them, and forgive your sinful people.

For take note, I am already beginning to bring disaster on the city that I call my own. So how can you possibly avoid being punished? You will not go unpunished! For I am proclaiming war against all who live on the earth. I, the LORD who rules over all, affirm it!’

to the praise of the glory of his grace that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son.

“ Therefore say to the house of Israel,‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: It is not for your sake that I am about to act, O house of Israel, but for the sake of my holy reputation which you profaned among the nations where you went.

Not to us, O LORD, not to us! But to your name bring honor, for the sake of your loyal love and faithfulness.Why should the nations say,“ Where is their God?”

Respond to the requests of your servant and your people Israel for this place. Hear from your heavenly dwelling place and respond favorably and forgive.

For you are our father, though Abraham does not know us and Israel does not recognize us. You, LORD, are our father; you have been called our protector from ancient times.Why, LORD, do you make us stray from your ways, and make our minds stubborn so that we do not obey you? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your inheritance!For a short time your special nation possessed a land, but then our adversaries knocked down your holy sanctuary.We existed from ancient times, but you did not rule over them, they were not your subjects.

You will rise up and have compassion on Zion. For it is time to have mercy on her, for the appointed time has come.Indeed, your servants take delight in her stones, and feel compassion for the dust of her ruins.The nations will respect the reputation of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth will respect his splendor,when the LORD rebuilds Zion, and reveals his splendor,

Do not hold us accountable for the sins of earlier generations! Quickly send your compassion our way, for we are in serious trouble!Help us, O God, our deliverer! For the sake of your glorious reputation, rescue us! Forgive our sins for the sake of your reputation!Why should the nations say,“ Where is their God?” Before our very eyes may the shed blood of your servants be avenged among the nations!

But I refrained from doing so, and acted instead for the sake of my reputation, so that I would not be profaned before the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.

LORD, do not be too angry! Do not hold our sins against us continually! Take a good look at your people, at all of us!Your chosen cities have become a desert; Zion has become a desert, Jerusalem is a desolate ruin.Our holy temple, our pride and joy, the place where our ancestors praised you, has been burned with fire; all our prized possessions have been destroyed.In light of all this, how can you still hold back, LORD? How can you be silent and continue to humiliate us?

I acted for the sake of my reputation, so that I would not be profaned before the nations among whom they lived, before whom I revealed myself by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.
