在你以后，另一国将兴起，不及于你。后有第三国，就是那铜的，要统治全地。

你们要磨尖箭头，拿起盾牌（“拿起盾牌”《七十士译本》译作“装满箭袋”）；耶和华定意要毁灭巴比伦，所以激动玛代诸王的心；这是耶和华的报复，就是为他的殿而施行的报复。

我又举目观看，看见有四辆战车从两座山中间出来，那两座山是铜山。

我又看见另一只兽，就是第二只兽；它和熊相似，挺起一边的身躯，口中的牙齿衔着三根肋骨。有人这样对它说：‘起来，吃多量的肉吧！’

大卫举目看见耶和华的使者站在天地之间，手里拿着出了鞘的刀，指向耶路撒冷。大卫和众长老都穿上麻布，脸伏于地。

我又举目观看，看见有一卷飞行的书卷。

“波斯王古列这样说：‘耶和华天上的神已经把地上万国赐给我。他指派我在犹大的耶路撒冷为他建造殿宇。

那与我说话的天使又出来对我说：“你要举目观看，看看这出来的是什么？”

我被指示去看一个惨酷的异象：那行诡诈的仍然行诡诈，那行破坏的仍然行破坏。以拦哪，上去吧！玛代啊，围攻吧！我要使一切叹息止住。

又在波斯王古列的日子，直到波斯王大利乌在位的时候，常常贿买参谋，来敌对犹大人，要破坏他们的建殿计划。

巴兰举目，看见以色列人按着支派居住，神的灵就临到他身上。

于是这但以理在大利乌作王的时候，和在波斯人古列作王的时候（本句或译：“于是这但以理在大利乌〔即波斯人古列〕作王的时候”），事事亨通。

我又举目观看，看见有四个角。

他执政第三年，曾为众领袖和臣仆摆设筵席；波斯和玛代的权贵，以及各省的贵族和领袖都在他面前。
