‘ The four great beasts are four kings that will rise from the earth.

He said,‘ The four large animals stand for four kings. The kings will appear on the earth.

‘ These four great beasts are four kings who shall arise out of the earth.

“ These four huge beasts represent four kingdoms that will arise from the earth.

‘ These huge beasts, four in number, are four kings who will rise from the earth.

耶穌答道：「我的國不屬於這個世界，如果我的國屬於這個世界，我的臣僕早就起來爭戰了，我也不會被交在猶太人的手裡。但我的國不屬於這個世界。」

接著，四隻巨獸從海中上來，各有不同的形狀。第一隻獸像獅子，但有鷹的翅膀。我觀看時，見牠的翅膀被拔掉。牠被扶起來，像人一樣雙腳站在地上，並被賦予人的頭腦。

對我說：「我要告訴你將來上帝發烈怒時所發生的事，因為這異象是關於那定好的末後時期。你看見的那隻有兩角的公綿羊指瑪代和波斯的諸王。公山羊指希臘王，在牠雙眼之間的大角指第一個王。大角折斷後，從原處長出四個角表示四個國必從這國興起，但都不及這國強大。

耶和華啊，求你伸手救我脫離這些人，脫離這些只在今生有福分的世人。你使他們財寶無數。他們兒女眾多，還把財富留給子孫。

我又看見一隻怪獸從海中上來，有七頭十角，每隻角上都戴著一個冠冕，每個頭上都寫著褻瀆上帝的名號。

王啊，你是萬王之王，天上的上帝已將國度、權柄、能力和尊榮賜給你，也將居住在各地的世人、走獸和飛禽都交在你手中，讓你管理。你就是那金頭。在你之後，必有另一國興起，不及你的國強大。之後是將要統治天下的第三個國，是銅的。接著是堅如鐵的第四國，能擊垮、打碎列國，正如鐵能擊垮、打碎一切。

我又看見另一隻怪獸從地裡竄出來，牠的兩隻角像羔羊的角，說話卻像龍，
