長老中有一位問我：「這些身穿白袍的人是誰？他們從哪裡來？」我回答說：「先生，你知道答案。」他便說：「這些都是經過大災難的人，他們用羔羊的血將衣裳洗得純淨潔白。

從祂面前流出火河，事奉祂的有千千，侍立在祂面前的有萬萬。祂坐下要審判，案卷已經展開。

有一位長老對我說：「不要哭。你看，猶大支派的獅子、大衛的根已經得勝了！祂能揭開那七個封印，打開那卷書。」

此前與我說話的天使離去時，迎著他走來另一位天使，

他向我解釋說：「但以理啊，我來是要使你有智慧和悟性。

他對我說：「倍受眷愛的但以理啊，要留心聽我說，站起來吧，因為我是奉命到你這裡來的。」他說完這話，我便戰戰兢兢地站起來。他說：「但以理啊，不要怕，從你在上帝面前謙卑地懇求明白這異象的第一天，你的禱告已蒙垂聽。我是來答覆你的。

我在夜間看到異象，見有人騎著一匹紅馬，站在谷中的番石榴樹林間，後面有紅馬、棕馬和白馬騎士。我就問：「主啊，這是什麼意思？」那位跟我說話的天使說：「我會告訴你這是什麼意思。」站在番石榴樹林間的那位對我說：「這些是耶和華派來巡視大地的。」其他騎士向站在番石榴樹林間的那位耶和華的天使報告說：「我們已經巡視了大地，到處都安寧平靜。」

接著，我聽見一位聖者在說話，另一位聖者問他：「異象中出現的有關日常所獻的祭，毀滅性的反叛和踐踏聖所及天軍的事要持續多久呢？」他對我說：「兩千三百個晝夜。之後，聖所才會潔淨。」我但以理看見這異象，正想明白它的意思，忽然有一個外貌像人的站在我面前。我聽見有人聲從烏萊河兩岸之間呼喊：「加百列啊，要讓此人明白這異象。」

舉目觀看，見有一個人身穿細麻衣，腰束純金的帶子，身體如碧玉，面貌如閃電，眼睛如火炬，四肢如明亮的銅，聲音如眾人的呼喊。

我但以理觀看，見另有兩個人分別站在河的兩岸。其中一人問身穿細麻衣、站在河水之上的人：「這奇異的事何時才應驗呢？」

「萬軍之耶和華說，『你若遵行我的道，謹守我的吩咐，便可以管理我的家，看守我的院宇。我必讓你在這些侍立的天使中間自由出入。
