长老中有一位问我：“这些身穿白袍的人是谁？他们从哪里来？”我回答说：“先生，你知道答案。”他便说：“这些都是经过大灾难的人，他们用羔羊的血将衣裳洗得纯净洁白。

从祂面前流出火河，事奉祂的有千千，侍立在祂面前的有万万。祂坐下要审判，案卷已经展开。

有一位长老对我说：“不要哭。你看，犹大支派的狮子、大卫的根已经得胜了！祂能揭开那七个封印，打开那卷书。”

此前与我说话的天使离去时，迎着他走来另一位天使，

他向我解释说：“但以理啊，我来是要使你有智慧和悟性。

他对我说：“倍受眷爱的但以理啊，要留心听我说，站起来吧，因为我是奉命到你这里来的。”他说完这话，我便战战兢兢地站起来。他说：“但以理啊，不要怕，从你在上帝面前谦卑地恳求明白这异象的第一天，你的祷告已蒙垂听。我是来答复你的。

我在夜间看到异象，见有人骑着一匹红马，站在谷中的番石榴树林间，后面有红马、棕马和白马骑士。我就问：“主啊，这是什么意思？”那位跟我说话的天使说：“我会告诉你这是什么意思。”站在番石榴树林间的那位对我说：“这些是耶和华派来巡视大地的。”其他骑士向站在番石榴树林间的那位耶和华的天使报告说：“我们已经巡视了大地，到处都安宁平静。”

接着，我听见一位圣者在说话，另一位圣者问他：“异象中出现的有关日常所献的祭，毁灭性的反叛和践踏圣所及天军的事要持续多久呢？”他对我说：“两千三百个昼夜。之后，圣所才会洁净。”我但以理看见这异象，正想明白它的意思，忽然有一个外貌像人的站在我面前。我听见有人声从乌莱河两岸之间呼喊：“加百列啊，要让此人明白这异象。”

举目观看，见有一个人身穿细麻衣，腰束纯金的带子，身体如碧玉，面貌如闪电，眼睛如火炬，四肢如明亮的铜，声音如众人的呼喊。

我但以理观看，见另有两个人分别站在河的两岸。其中一人问身穿细麻衣、站在河水之上的人：“这奇异的事何时才应验呢？”

“万军之耶和华说，‘你若遵行我的道，谨守我的吩咐，便可以管理我的家，看守我的院宇。我必让你在这些侍立的天使中间自由出入。
