Save me from my persecutors— rescue me!If you don’t, they will maul me like a lion, tearing me to pieces with no one to rescue me.O Lord my God, if I have done wrong or am guilty of injustice,if I have betrayed a friend or plundered my enemy without cause,

When he got there, he called out in anguish,“ Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?”

Do not abandon me, O Lord. Do not stand at a distance, my God.

Tell the godly that all will be well for them. They will enjoy the rich reward they have earned!

We can say with confidence and a clear conscience that we have lived with a God given holiness and sincerity in all our dealings. We have depended on God’s grace, not on our own human wisdom. That is how we have conducted ourselves before the world, and especially toward you.

Why are you chasing me? What have I done? What is my crime?

I wash my hands to declare my innocence. I come to your altar, O Lord,
