可是你仍然向我的百姓自高自大，不放他们走。

你要对君王和太后说：“你们当自卑，坐下；因你们的王冠，就是你们华美的冠冕已经掉落了。”

尼布甲尼撒王曾叫他指着上帝起誓，他却背叛，硬着颈项，内心顽固，不归向耶和华—以色列的上帝。

他们却不听从，竟硬着颈项，像他们祖先一样，不信服耶和华—他们的上帝。

骄傲在败坏以先，内心高傲在跌倒之前。

“万军之耶和华—以色列的上帝如此说：‘看哪，我必使我所说的一切灾祸临到这城和属它的城镇，因为他们硬着颈项不听我的话。’”

你要发出你满溢的怒气，见一切骄傲的人，使他降卑；你见一切骄傲的人，将他制伏，把恶人践踏在原来地方。

凡心里骄傲的，为耶和华所憎恶；击掌保证，他难免受罚。

总要趁着还有今日，天天彼此相劝，免得你们中间有人被罪迷惑，心肠刚硬了。

因他伸手攻击上帝，逞强对抗全能者，挺着颈项，用盾牌坚厚的凸面向全能者直闯；又因他的脸蒙上油脂，腰上积满肥肉。

“明亮之星，早晨之子啊，你竟然从天坠落！你这攻败列国的，竟然被砍倒在地上！你心里曾说：‘我要升到天上，我要高举我的宝座在上帝的众星之上，我要坐在会众聚集的山上，在极北的地方。我要升到高云之上，我要与至高者同等。’然而，你必坠落阴间，到地府极深之处。凡看见你的都要定睛望你，留意看你，说：‘就是这个人吗？他使大地颤抖，使列国震动，使世界如同荒野，使城镇倾覆；是他，不释放被掳的人归家。’

现在我—尼布甲尼撒赞美、尊崇、恭敬天上的王，因为他所行的全都信实，他所做的尽都公平。那行事骄傲的，他能降为卑。”

王说：“这大巴比伦岂不是我用大能大力建为首都，要显示我威严的荣耀吗？”这话还在王口中的时候，有声音从天降下，说：“尼布甲尼撒王啊，有话对你说，你的国离开你了。你必被赶出离开世人，与野地的走兽同住，吃草如牛，且要经过七个时期；等你知道至高者在人的国中掌权，要将国赐给谁就赐给谁。”当时这话就应验在尼布甲尼撒身上，他被赶出离开世人，吃草如牛，身体被天上的露水滴湿，头发长得像鹰的羽毛，指甲长得像鸟爪。

他用膀臂施展大能；他赶散心里妄想的狂傲人。他叫有权柄的失位，叫卑贱的升高。

“耶和华如此说：扶助埃及的必倾倒，埃及骄傲的权势必降为卑，从密夺到色弗尼，人必倒在刀下。这是主耶和华说的。

我告诉你们，这人回家去比那人倒算为义了。因为凡自高的，必降为卑；自甘卑微的，必升为高。”

少女巴比伦哪，下来坐在尘埃；迦勒底啊，没有宝座，要坐在地上；你不再称为柔弱娇嫩。

底本的居民哪，要从你荣耀的座位上下来，坐着忍受干渴；因毁灭摩押的人上来攻击你，毁坏了你的堡垒。

现在，从埃及人狂傲地对待以色列人这件事上，我知道耶和华比万神更大。”

你们为何硬着心，像埃及人和法老硬着心一样呢？上帝岂不是严厉对付埃及，使埃及人释放以色列人，他们就走了吗？
