While Belshazzar was drinking his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets that Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink from them.

其杯爐盂鼎、燈臺匙碗、金製者取其金、銀製者取其銀、侍衛長悉攜之去、

惟自高而抗天上之主、取其室中之器、至於爾前、爾與大臣后妃、用以飲酒、頌美金銀銅鐵木石之神、即無見無聞無知者、至於掌爾氣息、定爾道途之上帝、則不尊榮之、

上帝室中大小器皿、以及寶物、並王與牧伯之寶物、悉攜至巴比倫、

彼眾飲酒、頌讚金銀銅鐵木石之神、

列邦必服事之、延及子孫、迨其國之期既屆、則有多國大王、使之服役、

以色列王亞哈子約蘭十二年、猶大王約蘭子亞哈謝即位、時、年二十有二、在耶路撒冷為王、僅歷一年、其母名亞他利雅、乃以色列王暗利之孫也、亞哈謝循亞哈家之道、行耶和華所惡、如亞哈家所為、因其為亞哈家之壻也、

但以理被引詣王、王謂之曰、昔我王父自猶大所虜之猶大俘囚、爾即其中之但以理乎、

王歟、至上上帝以國位大權、尊榮威嚴、錫爾父尼布甲尼撒、

歲首尼布甲尼撒遣人攜約雅斤、及耶和華室之珍器、至巴比倫、立約雅斤叔西底家、為猶大及耶路撒冷王、○

爾國中有一人焉、聖神之靈寓於其中、爾父之時、見其通明、聰睿、智慧、若神之智、爾父尼布甲尼撒王、立之為巫人術士、迦勒底人、卜筮之長、

大衛曰、毋懼、我緣爾父約拿單故、必施仁慈於爾、以爾祖掃羅之田、悉反於爾、爾可恆食於我席、

後娶押沙龍女瑪迦、生亞比雅、亞太、細撒、示羅密、

亞撒王貶其祖母瑪迦太后之位、因其為亞舍拉作可憎之像、亞撒乃斫其像、搗之為粉、焚於汲淪溪濱、
