“ O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you and that no mystery is too difficult for you, tell me the visions of my dream that I saw and their interpretation.

‘术士的首领伯提沙撒啊，我知道你有圣洁神明的灵，任何奥秘都难不倒你。请你为我解释我梦中所见的异象。

‘术士的领袖伯提沙撒啊！因为我知道你里面有圣神的灵，没有什么隐秘的事能难倒你；因此，你要把我梦中所见的异象和梦的意思告诉我。

“术士的领袖伯提沙撒啊，我知道你里面有圣洁之神的灵，任何奥秘都难不倒你！你就讲说我所看到的梦中异象和梦的释义吧！

『術士的領袖伯提沙撒啊，因我知道你裏頭有聖神的靈，甚麼奧祕的事都不能使你為難。現在要把我夢中所見的異象和夢的講解告訴我。』

‘術士的領袖伯提沙撒啊！因為我知道你裡面有聖神的靈，沒有甚麼隱祕的事能難倒你；因此，你要把我夢中所見的異象和夢的意思告訴我。

『學術士的領袖伯提沙撒啊，因為我知道你裏頭有聖神明之靈，甚麼機密的事都不能使你為難；看哪，這時我夢中所見的異象；你要把它的解析說出來。

「術士的領袖伯提沙撒啊，我知道你裡面有聖潔之神的靈，任何奧祕都難不倒你！你就講說我所看到的夢中異象和夢的釋義吧！

巫師長伯提沙撒歟、我知聖神之靈寓於爾中、秘奧無足難爾、其告我所得之夢象、為我解之、

博士長伯底沙撒、我知爾感於至聖上帝之神、凡秘奧之事、爾能明晰、無事三思、我所得之夢、其兆維何、願明以告我、

博士長伯提沙撒歟、我知爾素為聖神明之神所感、凡奧秘之事、爾無不明晰、今我得夢、爾解其兆、爾解其兆或作爾為我解之

I said,“ Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you, and no mystery is too difficult for you. Here is my dream; interpret it for me.

I said,“ Belteshazzar, you are chief of the magicians. I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you. No mystery is too hard for you to figure out. Here is my dream. Tell me what it means.

“ I said to him,‘ Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you and that no mystery is too great for you to solve. Now tell me what my dream means.

“ Belteshazzar, head of the magicians, because I know that you have the spirit of the holy gods and that no mystery puzzles you, explain to me the visions of my dream that I saw, and its interpretation.

‘ Belteshazzar, chief of the soothsayer priests, since I know that a spirit of the holy gods is in you and no secret baffles you, tell me the visions of my dream which I have seen, along with its interpretation.

“ Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the Spirit of the Holy God is in you, and no secret troubles you, explain to me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its interpretation.

O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

“ Belteshazzar, head of the diviners, because I know that you have a spirit of the holy gods and that no mystery puzzles you, explain to me the visions of my dream that I saw, and its interpretation.

O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods[ is] in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

saying,“ Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, in whom I know there to be a spirit of the holy gods and whom no mystery baffles, consider my dream that I saw and set forth its interpretation!

“ Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you, and no secret troubles you, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its interpretation.

Then the king gave Daniel high honors and many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon and chief prefect over all the wise men of Babylon.

There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy gods. In the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods were found in him, and King Nebuchadnezzar, your father— your father the king— made him chief of the magicians, enchanters, Chaldeans, and astrologers,

At last Daniel came in before me— he who was named Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods— and I told him the dream, saying,

you are indeed wiser than Daniel; no secret is hidden from you;

I saw a dream that made me afraid. As I lay in bed the fancies and the visions of my head alarmed me.

And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom.

And Pharaoh said to his servants,“ Can we find a man like this, in whom is the Spirit of God?”

Your heart will muse on the terror:“ Where is he who counted, where is he who weighed the tribute? Where is he who counted the towers?”

When Gideon came, behold, a man was telling a dream to his comrade. And he said,“ Behold, I dreamed a dream, and behold, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian and came to the tent and struck it so that it fell and turned it upside down, so that the tent lay flat.”And his comrade answered,“ This is no other than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel; God has given into his hand Midian and all the camp.”As soon as Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped. And he returned to the camp of Israel and said,“ Arise, for the Lord has given the host of Midian into your hand.”

So the chief cupbearer told his dream to Joseph and said to him,“ In my dream there was a vine before me,and on the vine there were three branches. As soon as it budded, its blossoms shot forth, and the clusters ripened into grapes.Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand, and I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup and placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand.”Then Joseph said to him,“ This is its interpretation: the three branches are three days.In three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your office, and you shall place Pharaoh’s cup in his hand as formerly, when you were his cupbearer.Only remember me, when it is well with you, and please do me the kindness to mention me to Pharaoh, and so get me out of this house.For I was indeed stolen out of the land of the Hebrews, and here also I have done nothing that they should put me into the pit.”When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was favorable, he said to Joseph,“ I also had a dream: there were three cake baskets on my head,and in the uppermost basket there were all sorts of baked food for Pharaoh, but the birds were eating it out of the basket on my head.”And Joseph answered and said,“ This is its interpretation: the three baskets are three days.In three days Pharaoh will lift up your head— from you!— and hang you on a tree. And the birds will eat the flesh from you.”

Woe to us! Who can deliver us from the power of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with every sort of plague in the wilderness.

And the king said to them,“ I had a dream, and my spirit is troubled to know the dream.”Then the Chaldeans said to the king in Aramaic,“ O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation.”The king answered and said to the Chaldeans,“ The word from me is firm: if you do not make known to me the dream and its interpretation, you shall be torn limb from limb, and your houses shall be laid in ruins.

And Pharaoh said to Joseph,“ I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.”Joseph answered Pharaoh,“ It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.”Then Pharaoh said to Joseph,“ Behold, in my dream I was standing on the banks of the Nile.Seven cows, plump and attractive, came up out of the Nile and fed in the reed grass.Seven other cows came up after them, poor and very ugly and thin, such as I had never seen in all the land of Egypt.And the thin, ugly cows ate up the first seven plump cows,but when they had eaten them no one would have known that they had eaten them, for they were still as ugly as at the beginning. Then I awoke.I also saw in my dream seven ears growing on one stalk, full and good.Seven ears, withered, thin, and blighted by the east wind, sprouted after them,and the thin ears swallowed up the seven good ears. And I told it to the magicians, but there was no one who could explain it to me.”Then Joseph said to Pharaoh,“ The dreams of Pharaoh are one; God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do.The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good ears are seven years; the dreams are one.The seven lean and ugly cows that came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty ears blighted by the east wind are also seven years of famine.It is as I told Pharaoh; God has shown to Pharaoh what he is about to do.There will come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt,but after them there will arise seven years of famine, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt. The famine will consume the land,and the plenty will be unknown in the land by reason of the famine that will follow, for it will be very severe.And the doubling of Pharaoh’s dream means that the thing is fixed by God, and God will shortly bring it about.Now therefore let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise man, and set him over the land of Egypt.Let Pharaoh proceed to appoint overseers over the land and take one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt during the seven plentiful years.And let them gather all the food of these good years that are coming and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh for food in the cities, and let them keep it.That food shall be a reserve for the land against the seven years of famine that are to occur in the land of Egypt, so that the land may not perish through the famine.”

In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.

And the Lord said,“ Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.”So the Lord dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.

This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, saw. And you, O Belteshazzar, tell me the interpretation, because all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation, but you are able, for the spirit of the holy gods is in you.”
