Finally, Daniel came into my presence and I told him the dream.( He is called Belteshazzar, after the name of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods is in him.)

At last Daniel came in before me— he who was named Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods— and I told him the dream, saying,

Later Daniel entered( whose name is Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom there is a spirit of the holy gods). I recounted the dream for him as well,

But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods. I told the dream before him, saying,

太監長給他們起了名字：稱但以理為伯提沙撒，哈拿尼雅為沙得拉，米沙利為米煞，亞撒利雅為亞伯尼歌。

「這就是我尼布甲尼撒王所做的夢。伯提沙撒啊，你要為我解夢，因為我國中所有的智者都不能為我解夢。但是你能，因為你有聖潔神明的靈。」

我聽說你有神明的靈，有灼見、悟性和非凡的智慧。

『術士的首領伯提沙撒啊，我知道你有聖潔神明的靈，任何奧秘都難不倒你。請你為我解釋我夢中所見的異象。

你國中有一個人，他有聖潔神明的靈。先王在世時，曾發現他有神明一樣的灼見、悟性和智慧。先王尼布甲尼撒立他為術士、巫師、占星家和占卜者的首領。他有非凡的心智、知識和悟性，能解夢、釋謎、解惑。他叫但以理，先王給他取名叫伯提沙撒。現在可以把他召來，他必能解釋這些字的意思。」

王問的事太難，除了不在人間居住的神明外，無人能為王解答。」

後來，他們想起古時候，想起了摩西和他的百姓，便問，帶領百姓及其牧者摩西從海裡出來的那位在哪裡？將自己的聖靈降在他們中間的那位在哪裡？

「你要向列國宣告，你要豎起旗幟毫不隱瞞地宣告，『巴比倫要淪陷了！它的神明彼勒必蒙羞，米羅達必驚慌；巴比倫的神像都蒙羞，偶像都必驚慌。

彼勒屈膝跪下，尼波彎腰降服。這些巴比倫的偶像成為野獸和牲畜背上的重負，使其疲憊不堪。

我要在那裡降臨，對你說話，把降在你身上的靈也賜給他們，讓他們為你分擔管理民眾的責任，免得你獨自承擔。你要叫民眾潔淨自己，到明天就會有肉吃。因為我聽見了他們哭著要肉吃、說埃及的日子更好，我必給他們肉吃。他們將不止吃一天、兩天、五天、十天或二十天，而是要吃整整一個月，直到肉從他們鼻孔裡噴出來，令他們厭膩。因為他們厭棄我，在我面前哭訴，後悔離開埃及。」摩西說：「和我同行的，僅男子就有六十萬，你還說要讓他們吃整整一個月的肉！就是把牛羊都宰了，把海裡的魚都捕來，恐怕也不夠他們吃！」耶和華說：「難道我的臂膀能力不夠嗎？你很快將看見我的話會不會應驗。」摩西就出去把耶和華的話轉告民眾，又選了七十位長老，叫他們站在會幕周圍。耶和華在雲中降臨，對摩西說話，把降在摩西身上的靈也賜給七十位長老。靈一降在他們身上，他們就說起預言來，但只說了這一次。七十位長老中的伊利達和米達沒有到會幕去，但耶和華的靈也降在他們身上，他們就在營中說起預言來。有一個青年跑去稟告摩西說：「伊利達和米達正在營中說預言。」摩西揀選的助手——嫩的兒子約書亞就說：「我主摩西，請你禁止他們。」摩西說：「你是怕我的權威受影響嗎？願耶和華的子民都成為先知！願耶和華把祂的靈降在他們身上！」之後，摩西和以色列的長老都返回營中。
