於是博士賢人、太史卜師、咸集、余告以所夢、彼不能解其兆焉、

When the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners came, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me.

Those who try to figure things out by using magic came. So did those who study the heavens. I told all of them what I had dreamed. But they couldn’t tell me what it meant.

Then the magicians, the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the astrologers came in, and I told them the dream, but they could not make known to me its interpretation.

我使假先知的預兆無法應驗，使占卜者醜態百出；我顛覆智者的知識，使之愚不可及。

你們不可聽信你們的先知、占卜者、解夢者、巫師和術士的話，他們說巴比倫王不會征服你們。他們的預言是騙人的，只會使你們遠離家園。我會趕走你們，使你們滅亡。

他們再次對王說：「請王將夢告訴僕人，僕人好解釋夢的意思。」

現在這些人敵對真理，就像從前雅尼和佯庇反對摩西一樣，他們的心思壞透了，他們的信仰是虛假的。不過，他們猖狂不了多久，因為他們的愚昧行徑必暴露在眾人面前，就像雅尼和佯庇的下場一樣。

尼布甲尼撒在執政第二年做了夢，心裡煩亂，無法入睡，便派人召來術士、巫師、行法術的和占星家，為他解夢。他們都來到王面前。

占星家說：「王所要求的，世上無人能做到，因為再偉大、再有權勢的君王也沒問過術士、巫師或占星家這樣的事。

但以理回答說：「沒有智者、術士、巫師或占星家可以解答王所問的奧秘，

早上法老心中不安，就派人召來埃及所有的術士和博學之士，把夢告訴他們，可是沒有一個人能為他解夢。
