我就下令把巴比伦所有的智慧人，都带到我面前来，要他们把梦的意思向我说明。

So I commanded that all the wise men of Babylon be brought before me to interpret the dream for me.

于是王吩咐人把术士、用法术的、行邪术的和迦勒底人都召来，要他们把王的梦告诉王。他们来了，站在王面前。

有人对你们说：“要求问那些交鬼的和行巫术的，就是那些喃喃细语的人。”一族之民不应当求问自己的神吗？他们怎能为活人求问死人呢？

继续使用你从幼年时就劳碌施行的符咒和许多的邪术吧！或者你可以得到益处，也许你能叫人战栗。你因你许多的计划而劳累；现在让那些划分天象的，观看星辰的，在月朔时说预言的，都站起来，拯救你脱离要临到你身上的事。看哪！他们必像碎秸，火必要焚烧他们；他们不能救自己脱离火焰的威力；这不是可以烤火取暖的火炭，也不是可以坐在它面前的火。

这些干瘦的麦穗，竟把那七个又肥壮又饱满的麦穗吞下去，法老就醒了，原来是一个梦。到了早晨，法老心里烦乱，就派人去把埃及所有的术士和智慧人都召了来；法老把自己的梦告诉他们，但是没有人能替法老解梦。
