The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

王说：“这大巴比伦岂不是我用大能大力建为首都，要显示我威严的荣耀吗？”

说：“这宏伟的巴比伦岂不是我用大能建立为京都，以显我的威严和荣耀吗？”

他说：“这大巴比伦城不是我用大能大力建造作我的京都，为显我威严的荣耀吗？”

开口说：“这大巴比伦，难道不是我以自己的权能力量建为国都，为要显出我威严的尊荣吗？”

他說：「這大巴比倫不是我用大能大力建為京都，要顯我威嚴的榮耀嗎？」

王說：「這大巴比倫豈不是我用大能大力建為首都，要顯示我威嚴的榮耀嗎？」

王說：「這大巴比倫豈不是我用大能大力建為首都，要顯示我威嚴的榮耀嗎？」

說：「這宏偉的巴比倫豈不是我用大能建立為京都，以顯我的威嚴和榮耀嗎？」

他說：“這大巴比倫城不是我用大能大力建造作我的京都，為顯我威嚴的榮耀嗎？”

王應時說：『這豈不是大巴比倫，我用我財力的權勢所建築、做王家宮殿，要顯示我威嚴之光榮的麼？』

開口說：「這大巴比倫，難道不是我以自己的權能力量建為國都，為要顯出我威嚴的尊榮嗎？」

曰、此非大巴比倫、我以大能大力建為王都、彰我威榮乎、

自謂此非巴比倫大城、我所建造者乎、我以之為國都、顯我能、彰我榮、

我尼布甲尼撒王曰、此巴比倫大城、非我用大能建為王都、以顯我榮者乎、

he said,“ Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?”

He said,“ Isn’t this the great Babylon I have built as a place for my royal palace? I used my mighty power to build it. It shows how glorious my majesty is.”

and the king answered and said,“ Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by my mighty power as a royal residence and for the glory of my majesty?”

As he looked out across the city, he said,‘ Look at this great city of Babylon! By my own mighty power, I have built this beautiful city as my royal residence to display my majestic splendor.’

the king exclaimed,“ Is this not Babylon the Great that I have built to be a royal residence by my vast power and for my majestic glory?”

The king began speaking and was saying,‘ Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal residence by the might of my power and for the honor of my majesty?’

The king spoke, saying,“ Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?”

The king spake and said, Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling- place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?

the king exclaimed,“ Is this not Babylon the Great that I have built by my vast power to be a royal residence and to display my majestic glory?”

The king uttered these words:“ Is this not the great Babylon that I have built for a royal residence by my own mighty strength and for my majestic honor?”

The king spoke and said,“ Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?”

Pride[ goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all[ of you] be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

And upon her forehead[ was] a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

They are corrupt, and speak wickedly[ concerning] oppression: they speak loftily.

Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

Man[ that is] in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts[ that] perish.

And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink,[ and] be merry.But God said unto him,[ Thou] fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.And[ men] shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.The LORD[ is] gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.The LORD[ is] good to all: and his tender mercies[ are] over all his works.All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.

They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion[ is] fat, and their meat plenteous.

When he shewed the riches of his glorious kingdom and the honour of his excellent majesty many days,[ even] an hundred and fourscore days.

And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I[ am] against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river[ is] mine own, and I have made[ it] for myself.

By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof,[ and] the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border,[ and] the forest of his Carmel.I have digged, and drunk water; and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of the besieged places.

And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top[ may reach] unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.And the LORD said, Behold, the people[ is] one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

For he saith,[ Are] not my princes altogether kings?[ Is] not Calno as Carchemish?[ is] not Hamath as Arpad?[ is] not Samaria as Damascus?As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?Wherefore it shall come to pass,[ that] when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done[ it], and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant[ man]:And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs[ that are] left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith?[ or] shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake[ itself] against them that lift it up,[ or] as if the staff should lift up[ itself, as if it were] no wood.

Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart[ is] lifted up, and thou hast said, I[ am] a God, I sit[ in] the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou[ art] a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:Behold, thou[ art] wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:By thy great wisdom[ and] by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:

O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:

Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.

Both riches and honour[ come] of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand[ is] power and might; and in thine hand[ it is] to make great, and to give strength unto all.Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.But who[ am] I, and what[ is] my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things[ come] of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.

And the house which I build[ is] great: for great[ is] our God above all gods.But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who[ am] I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?

And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast[ it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

Behold, his soul[ which] is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine,[ he is] a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and[ is] as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
