Then the king sent for the royal rulers, high officials and governors. He sent for the advisers, treasurers, judges and court officers. And he sent for all the other officials of Babylon. He asked them to come to a special gathering to honor the statue he had set up.

Then King Nebuchadnezzar sent to gather the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the justices, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces to come to the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

Then he sent messages to the high officers, officials, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates, and all the provincial officials to come to the dedication of the statue he had set up.

於是這些總長和總督就彼此串通來見王，對他說：『願大利烏王萬歲！國中的總長、欽差、總督、參謀和巡撫、彼此商議：願能立條王家法典，嚴格施行一道禁令：三十天以內，無論何人、王啊，除了求你以外，若向任何神或任何人求甚麼，就必須給扔在獅子坑中。

亞倫從他們手裏接過來，用雕刻的器具雕造它，作成一隻鑄像的牛犢；他們就說：『以色列啊，這就是你們的神、那領你們從埃及地上來的！』亞倫看見，就在牛犢面前築了一座祭壇；又宣告說：明天要過節來事奉永恆主。第二天、他們清早起來，就獻上燔祭，帶平安祭上前去；人民又坐下去喫喝，起來嬉戲作樂。

大利烏實行他的旨意、立了一百二十個總督來管理國家；散於全國各地。又在他們以上立了總長三人（但以理是其中之一），使這些總督向他們三人呈報告，免得王精神受虧損。於是這但以理，因有非常高超之靈在他裏頭，他便出類拔萃於眾總長和總督之上；王就想要立他來管理全國。那時總長和總督卻想法子找到關於誤國的把柄來控告但以理；可是任何把柄或腐敗都找不到，因為但以理忠信可靠，任何疏失或腐敗都找不到可告他。

非利士人的霸主們聚集了來，要給他們的神大袞獻大祭，並且歡樂慶祝；他們說：『我們的神將我們的仇敵參孫交在我們手中了。』

掌權者傾聽虛假的話，他的臣僕就都邪惡。

耶羅波安定了八月十五日為節期，像在猶大的節期一樣；他自己上去、在祭壇旁獻祭；在伯特利他也這樣作，向他所造的牛犢獻祭，又將他所立為邱壇的祭司安置在伯特利。

那些女子請以色列人民去赴獻與她們的神的祭筵，以色列人民竟喫她們的祭筵，跪拜她們的神。
