但你们要小心！因为人要把你们交给公议会，你们要在会堂里被鞭打，又要为我的缘故站在总督和君王面前，向他们作见证。

他们却大怒，彼此商议怎样对付耶稣。

过了几天，腓力斯和他的犹太妻子土西拉一同来到，他又传见保罗，听他谈论在耶稣基督里的信仰。

于是扫罗向约拿单发怒，对他说：“你这邪僻悖逆妇人所生的，我岂不知道你喜悦耶西的儿子，自取羞辱，也羞辱生你的母亲吗？因为只要耶西的儿子还活在这世上，你和你的国就不能稳固。现在，你要派人去把他抓到我这里来，因为他是该死的。”约拿单回答他父亲扫罗说：“为什么要把他处死呢？他作了什么事呢？”扫罗向着约拿单把枪掷过去，要刺杀他。约拿单就知道，他父亲已经决意要杀死大卫。

只是没有看中该隐和他的礼物。该隐就非常忿怒，垂头丧气。

但在这一切以先，人必为我的名，下手拘捕、迫害你们，把你们交给会堂，下在监里，甚至押到君王和总督面前，

容易发怒的人，引起纷争；脾气暴烈的人，多有过犯。

哈曼见末底改不向他屈身下拜，就非常忿怒。他以为只下手对付末底改一人还是小事，因为有人把末底改的本族告诉了哈曼；所以哈曼设法要把亚哈随鲁王全国所有的犹大人，与末底改一起消灭。

石头重，沙土也重，愚妄人的怒气比这两样更重。

你们为我的缘故，也要被带到统治者和君王面前，向他们和外族人作见证。

宁愿遇见失掉幼子的母熊，也不愿遇见正在行愚妄事的愚昧人。
