于是他们对王说：“王啊，在被掳的犹大人中的但以理不理会你的命令，也不理会你签署的禁令，竟仍一日三次向他的神祈求。”

耶孙却收留他们。这些人都违背凯撒的法令，说另外还有一个王耶稣。”

哈曼对亚哈随鲁王说：“有一个种族，散居在王国各省各民族之中；他们的法例与各族的法例不同，他们也不遵守王的法规；所以留下他们，对王实在无益。

我看见各样的劳碌和各样精巧的工作，都是出于人与人彼此的竞争。这也是虚空，也是捕风。

妇女们跳舞、歌唱，说：“扫罗杀死千千！大卫杀死万万！”扫罗非常恼怒，不喜欢这话，就说：“他们给大卫万万，只给我千千，就只剩下王位没给他。”从那天起，扫罗就妒忌大卫。第二天，从神那里来的恶鬼降在扫罗身上，他就在家中胡言乱语。大卫照常弹琴，扫罗手里拿着枪。扫罗把枪掷过去，心里说：“我要把大卫刺在墙上。”大卫两次避开了他。

烈怒虽然凶残，暴怒又好像狂澜，人还可以忍受；但面对嫉妒，谁能站立得住呢？

“我们严厉地吩咐过你们，不准再奉这名教导。看，你们却把你们的道理传遍了耶路撒冷，想要把流这人的血的责任推到我们身上。”
