Moreover, at Daniel’s request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego administrators over the province of Babylon, while Daniel himself remained at the royal court.

The king also did what Daniel asked him to. He appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to help Daniel govern Babylon and the towns around it. Daniel himself remained at the royal court.

Daniel made a request of the king, and he appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego over the affairs of the province of Babylon. But Daniel remained at the king’s court.

眾女復集、木底改於御閽待命、

惡惡好善、在彼公庭、秉諸公義、庶幾萬有之主耶和華、矜憫約瑟之遺民。

木底改待命御閽時、有司閽辟單底力、二豎怨王、謀殺之。

宦官長為易其名、稱但以理曰伯底沙撒、稱哈拿尼亞曰沙得臘、稱米沙利曰米煞、稱亞薩哩亞曰、亞伯尼坷、

巴比倫王之牧伯、尼甲沙利泄、三甲尼破、宦官長撒西金、博士長尼甲沙哩設、又有王之牧伯數人、咸至坐於中門。

凡御閽待命者、俱遵王命、揖拜哈曼、惟木底改不拜。

但以理歸告同儕哈拿尼亞、米沙利、亞薩哩亞曰、

上帝賦四子以聰明智慧、文字靡不諳通、但以理備悉異象、善解夢兆、

今有猶大人沙得臘、米煞、亞伯尼坷、王封之治巴比倫、乃不事爾之上帝、不拜爾所立之像、是不遵王命也、王大怒、命曳三人至、王曰、沙得臘、米煞、亞伯尼坷、爾三人不事我之上帝、不拜我所立之金像、故方我命乎、今爾聽角鼗琴瑟笙簫樂器之音、咸當俯伏拜我所鑄之像、則可、不然、即投爾於洪爐、諸上帝中孰一能救爾於我手、沙得臘、米煞、亞伯尼坷對曰、我儕自有說、我所事之上帝、能救我於洪爐、脫我於王手、即不然、我亦不事王之上帝、拜王所立之金像、王怒益甚、勃然變色、使爇洪爐、較常者燄烈七倍、命軍中壯士束縛三人、投諸洪爐、三人受縛、不去上下內外之衣、投於洪爐、王命孔亟、洪爐倍熱、壯士反為烈燄所燬、三人既被縛、擲於洪爐、頃之王忽驚起、問諸議士曰、我非取三人、縛投火中乎、僉曰然、王曰、我今見四人、不縛不傷、遨遊火中、其一貌若上帝子、王近洪爐之側、曰、沙得臘、米煞、亞伯尼坷、至上上帝之僕、當出、於是三人俱從火出、方伯州牧邑宰、與王之議士大和會、觀斯三人、火焰不傷、首髮不炙、衣不變色、火燎之臭、亦未之有、王曰、沙得臘、米煞、亞伯尼坷、賴其上帝、余雖降命、彼寧焚其身、不拜他上帝、故上帝遣使救援、當頌美不已。我今頒詔命、諸民人族姓、凡瀆沙得臘、米煞、亞伯尼坷之上帝者、必剖其體、以其室為厠、蓋無他上帝、能救人若此。王於是特舉三人居顯爵、處於巴比倫邑。

義人在位、萬事彰明、惡者秉鈞、庶民隱遯。
