And what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, as God said: I will dwell and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.

But will God indeed live on earth with humans? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain you, much less this temple I have built.

“ This is my resting place forever; I will make my home here because I have desired it.

This is what the LORD says: Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool. Where could you possibly build a house for me? And where would my resting place be?My hand made all these things, and so they all came into being. This is the LORD’s declaration. But will God indeed live on earth? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain you, much less this temple I have built.

I will pardon their bloodguilt, which I have not pardoned, for the LORD dwells in Zion.
