The two kings, with their hearts bent on evil, will sit at the same table and lie to each other, but to no avail, because an end will still come at the appointed time.

The kings of Syria and Egypt will sit at the same table. But in their hearts they will plan to do what is evil. And they will tell lies to each other. But it will not do them any good. God will put an end to their plans at his appointed time.

And as for the two kings, their hearts shall be bent on doing evil. They shall speak lies at the same table, but to no avail, for the end is yet to be at the time appointed.

人人向鄰舍說謊；他們說話嘴唇油滑，心口不一。

他們彎起舌頭像弓，為要說謊話；他們在國中增長勢力，不是為誠信。他們惡上加惡，並不認識我。這是耶和華說的。你們各人當謹防鄰舍，不可信賴弟兄；因為弟兄盡行欺騙，鄰舍也都往來毀謗人。他們互相欺騙，不說真話，訓練自己的舌頭說謊，竭盡所能地作惡。

智慧人中有些人仆倒，為要使他們受熬煉，成為潔淨、潔白，直到末了；因為還有一段日子才到所定的時期。

他們圖謀奸惡：「我們完成了精密的策劃。」各人的意念心思是深沉的。

因為這默示有一定的日期，論及終局，絕不落空。它雖然躭延，你要等候；因為它必臨到，不再遲延。

守財奴的飯，你不要吃，也不要貪戀他的美味；因為他的心怎樣算計，他為人就是這樣。他雖對你說：請吃，請喝，他的心卻與你相背。你所吃的那點食物必吐出來，你恭維的話語也必落空。

他說：「看哪，我要指示你惱怒結束的時候必成的事，因為這是關乎末後指定的時期。

「到末了，南方王要與北方王交戰。北方王要用戰車、騎兵和許多戰船，勢如暴風來攻擊他，又要侵入列國，如洪水氾濫。

不然！你們心中作惡，量出你們在地上手中的殘暴。

勇士啊，你為何作惡自誇？神的慈愛是常存的。

圖謀惡事的，心存詭詐；勸人和睦的，便得喜樂。

火熱的嘴唇，邪惡的心，好像銀渣包在瓦器上。

七月中，王的大臣，就是王室後裔以利沙瑪的孫子、尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利帶着十個人，來到米斯巴，亞希甘的兒子基大利那裏；他們在米斯巴一同吃飯。尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利和同他來的那十個人起來，用刀擊殺沙番的孫子，亞希甘的兒子基大利，就是巴比倫王所立為當地省長的，把他殺死。以實瑪利把所有在米斯巴與基大利一起的猶大人，以及他們在那裏所遇見的迦勒底人和士兵都殺了。

人心多有計謀；惟有耶和華的籌算才能成就。

弟兄們，關於那時候和日期，不用人寫信給你們，

你要說，主耶和華如此說：這棵葡萄樹豈能發旺呢？鷹豈不拔出它的根來，摘光它的果子，使它枯乾，連長出的嫩葉都枯萎了嗎？要把它連根拔除，並不需要費大力或動用許多人。

波斯王居魯士第三年，有話指示那稱為伯提沙撒的但以理。這話是確實的，指着大戰爭；但以理明白這話，明白這異象。

押沙龍說：「王若不去，請讓我哥哥暗嫩與我們同去。」王對他說：「為何要他與你同去呢？」

耶穌對他們說：「父憑着自己的權柄所定的時候和日期，不是你們可以知道的。

「到了指定的時期，他必返回，侵入南方。這一次卻不像前一次，

因為他已經定了日子，要藉着他所設立的人按公義審判天下，並且使他從死人中復活，給萬人作可信的憑據。」

人真是虛空，人真是虛假；放在天平裏就必浮起，他們一共比空氣還輕。
