試觀依形軀之以色列人、食祭物者、非與於祭壇乎、然則何謂耶、言祭像之物為足稱乎、抑像為足稱乎、乃謂異邦所祭者祭鬼耳、非上帝也、我不欲爾與於鬼也、爾不能飲主杯、兼飲鬼杯、不能與主席、兼與鬼席、

作惡者流、爾其遠我、俾守我上帝之誡命兮、

人若堅心而無所迫、自行其志、定意留其處女則為善、

饗爾祭牲之脂、飲爾灌祭之酒者、其起而助爾護爾、

既至、見上帝之恩、則喜、勸眾堅心恆在於主、

宜各隨心志、毋憂毋強、蓋上帝愛夫樂施者也、

王命日以己所用之膳、所飲之酒頒之、養之三年、屆期侍於王前、

設有語爾者曰、此乃祭物、則勿食之、為語爾者、且為良心也、所謂良心、非爾心、乃彼心也、蓋我之自由、胡為被他人之良心擬議乎、若我蒙恩而共食、胡為因我所感謝者受謗乎、如是、爾或食或飲、凡所為者、皆以榮上帝而為之、

爾公義之律例、我曾立誓為證、必守之兮、

然人不皆有此知識、至今有習於偶像者、而食若為祭物然、其良心尚弱、故見浼焉、非所食者、使我悅於上帝、不食無損、食亦無益、惟宜慎之、恐爾之自由、為弱者之躓礙也、或見爾有知識者、席坐偶像之廟、彼良心尚弱、豈不果於食祭像之物乎、

若使兄弟因食而憂、則所行不由於愛也、基督既為之死、爾毋以所食敗之、毋令爾之善、為人所謗、蓋上帝之國、不在飲食、惟義與安、及聖神中之樂也、

曰、主、不然、俗物及不潔者、我未嘗食焉、又有聲曰、上帝所潔者、勿以為俗也、如是者三、器即上收於天、○

我決志為我上帝耶和華之名建室、應耶和華諭我父大衛之言曰、我將使爾子繼爾踐位、彼必為我名建室、

汝所死之處、我亦死於彼、葬於彼、除死而外、我若與爾相離、願耶和華罰我維倍、拿俄米見路得決志偕往、則不復言、

民亦契於巴力毘珥、食祭死物之品兮、
