爾其小心謹慎、毋令他人以其鑿空蹈虛之詭辯、支離妄本之曲學、劫奪爾之心魂。此種詭辯曲學、囿於習俗、扭於形迹、而不能上達於基督也。

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.

But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you;

casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

Take us the foxes, the little foxes, That spoil the vineyards; For our vineyards are in blossom.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the discernment of the discerning will I bring to nought.Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom knew not God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe.Seeing that Jews ask for signs, and Greeks seek after wisdom:but we preach Christ crucified, unto Jews a stumblingblock, and unto Gentiles foolishness;

But some one will say, How are the dead raised? and with what manner of body do they come?Thou foolish one, that which thou thyself sowest is not quickened except it die:

And Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience;
