The Lord builds his palace high in the heavens. He lays its foundation on the earth. He sends for the waters in the clouds. Then he pours them out on the surface of the land. His name is the Lord.

創山作風、以人之意念示人、造晨光、造幽暗、造晨光造幽暗或作變晨光為幽暗履地之高處者、主萬有之天主其名也、

主從上宮滋潤山岡、因主之作為、地土豐裕、

天地萬物既成、

將地立於基上、使之永不動搖、使淵水蓋地、有若衣被、山嶺之上、亦皆有水、

天主謂摩西曰、我自有永有者、又曰、爾當告以色列人曰、自有者、遣我就爾、天主又謂摩西曰、當如是告以色列人云、遣我就爾者乃耶和華、即爾列祖之天主、亞伯拉罕之天主、以撒之天主、雅各之天主、此乃我恆久之名、歷世之稱、

主曰、爾豈可不畏我、不戰慄於我前、我定沙為海界、水不得越、波浪奔騰、不能漲溢、洪濤洶湧、不能踰越、

適挪亞六百歲、二月十七日、是日大淵之泉湧出、天破其隙、注雨於地四十晝夜、當是日挪亞與三子閃、含、雅弗、挪亞之妻、暨三子之婦、悉登方舟、彼眾及百獸從其類、牲畜從其類、動於地之昆蟲從其類、諸飛禽從其類、凡有血肉有生氣者、各為匹耦、就挪亞登舟、凡登舟有血氣之物、乃循天主所命挪亞者、有牝有牡、主遂為之閉舟門、洪水氾濫於地四旬、水勢洶洶、使舟起浮於地上、水於地上漲溢愈甚、舟溯洄於水面、水勢在地極其浩大、天下高山為之淹沒、
