Horses don’t run on rocky ground. People don’t plow the sea with oxen. But you have turned fair treatment into poison. You have turned the fruit of right living into bitterness.

Do horses run on rocks? Does one plow there with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood—

Can horses gallop over boulders? Can oxen be used to plow them? But that’s how foolish you are when you turn justice into poison and the sweet fruit of righteousness into bitterness.

你們這使公平變為茵蔯、將公義丟棄於地的，

你們踐踏貧民，向他們勒索麥子；你們用鑿過的石頭建造房屋，卻不得住在其內；栽種美好的葡萄園，卻不得喝所出的酒。我知道你們的罪過何等多，你們的罪惡何等大。你們苦待義人，收受賄賂，在城門口屈枉窮乏人。

他們為立約說謊言，起假誓；因此，災罰如苦菜滋生在田間的犂溝中。

就是悖逆、不認識耶和華，轉去不跟從我們的神，說欺壓和叛逆的話，心懷謊言，隨即說出。並且公平轉而退後，公義站在遠處；誠實在街上仆倒，正直也不得進入。

王后耶洗別對亞哈說：「你現在是治理以色列國不是？只管起來，心裏暢暢快快地吃飯，我必將耶斯列人拿伯的葡萄園給你。」於是託亞哈的名寫信，用王的印印上，送給那些與拿伯同城居住的長老貴冑。信上寫着說：「你們當宣告禁食，叫拿伯坐在民間的高位上，又叫兩個匪徒坐在拿伯對面，作見證告他說：『你謗瀆神和王了』；隨後就把他拉出去用石頭打死。」那些與拿伯同城居住的長老貴冑得了耶洗別的信，就照信而行，宣告禁食，叫拿伯坐在民間的高位上。有兩個匪徒來，坐在拿伯的對面，當着眾民作見證告他說：「拿伯謗瀆神和王了！」眾人就把他拉到城外，用石頭打死。

他們卻不肯聽從，扭轉肩頭，塞耳不聽，使心硬如金鋼石，不聽律法和萬軍之耶和華用靈藉從前的先知所說的話。故此，萬軍之耶和華大發烈怒。

你們耕種的是奸惡，收割的是罪孽，吃的是謊話的果子。因你倚靠自己的行為，仰賴勇士眾多，

「你們這硬着頸項、心與耳未受割禮的人，常時抗拒聖靈！你們的祖宗怎樣，你們也怎樣。哪一個先知不是你們祖宗逼迫呢？他們也把預先傳說那義者要來的人殺了；如今你們又把那義者賣了，殺了。

你為何使我看見罪孽？你為何看着奸惡而不理呢？毀滅和強暴在我面前，又起了爭端和相鬥的事。因此律法放鬆，公理也不顯明；惡人圍困義人，所以公理顯然顛倒。

耶和華啊，你的眼目不是看顧誠實嗎？你擊打他們，他們卻不傷慟；你毀滅他們，他們仍不受懲治。他們使臉剛硬過於磐石，不肯回頭。

那藉着律例架弄殘害、在位上行奸惡的，豈能與你相交嗎？他們大家聚集攻擊義人，將無辜的人定為死罪。

風箱吹火，鉛被燒毀；他們煉而又煉，終是徒然；因為惡劣的還未除掉。人必稱他們為被棄的銀渣，因為耶和華已經棄掉他們。

他們雙手作惡；君王徇情面，審判官要賄賂；位分大的吐出惡意，都彼此結聯行惡。

因為我素來知道你是頑梗的－你的頸項是鐵的；你的額是銅的。
