爾以我言播告於民、耶利米曰、斯民遭難孔艱、可為晝夜痛哭流涕也。

撒馬利亞之民、奉事犢像、而犯罪愆、人反指之而誓曰、但之上帝永生、別是巴之上帝永生、故必殞亡、永不振興。

我耶和華曰、因爾崇拜可惡之偶像、殺子女以獻、亦施金與所歡、行淫無度、故我必使爾所娛悅之人、集於一處、與爾所憎者偕居、既集之後、我必裸爾體、使眾目睹。

比迦在位之時、亞述王滴臘比利斯至、陷以雲、亞伯伯馬迦、雜挪、基特、夏朔、基列、加利利、納大利四境、擄其民人、至於亞述。

蝗嚙草既盡、我曰、主耶和華與、祈爾寛宥、雅各衰微、能久存乎。耶和華乃回厥志、曰、此災可免。耶和華復以一事示予、以火罰民、深淵悉涸、所得之地、成焦土焉。我曰、主耶和華與、祈爾中止、雅各衰微、能久存乎。

故我耶和華曰、我視以色列族、有若處女、惟彼所行、甚屬難堪、即異邦人亦未有此。

當以我言告之曰、郇邑未字之女、藐視爾、戲笑爾、即耶路撒冷之女、其頷首也、亦適以欺爾。

爾曹耶路撒冷人、我耶和華所震怒、若手執爵、酒味殊烈、醞釀甚厚、使爾飲之務盡、以至酩酊、今當儆醒覺悟。耶路撒冷赤子、雖曰眾多、未有人扶爾導爾者、

父既犯罪、戮及子孫、不復振興、不建邑城、不得寸土。

以色列族因蹈愆尤、遂致殞沒、當歸誠爾之上帝耶和華、

彼稱木為父、稱石為母、居恆之際、則背逆乎我、患難之時、則求予援手。

耶和華又曰、我必復建以色列國、譬彼處女、執鼗相從、舞蹈而出、忻喜懽忭、

耶路撒冷之民、郇邑之女、爾之禍患、大若滄海、孰能醫爾兮、予將何詞何譬、用慰爾心矣。

棄其上帝耶和華之命、鑄二金犢、樹立木偶、崇拜天象、奉事巴力、

緣此我為哭泣、潸然出涕、蓋慰者遠去、不加拯救兮、敵人勝予、子民煢獨兮。郇民舉手、慰藉無人兮、耶和華使雅各諸敵、環而攻之、彼視耶路撒冷、若污衊之婦兮。耶和華無不義、我違其命、故罹重罰、壯士處女、俱為俘囚、爾曹黎庶、見我憂愁兮。我招良朋、不副予望、祭司長老、惟求糈糧、以果其腹兮、求而不得、亡於邑中兮。

驕者將顛躓、無人扶翼、我火其邑、四周焚燬。

我使車馬軍旅咸集、然後傾覆之、不能復起、其易也、如撲滅餘燼、

大闢之宅、已傾圮矣、今而後、我將復起之、而彌其隙、復起其頹垣、而再建之、與昔無異、

耶和華又曰、爾創傷未痊、殘缺未醫、無人察視、裏其傷痕、敷以良藥、雖有良朋、棄爾弗顧、因爾眾愆尤屢蹈、故我加爾以重傷、罹爾以嚴酷。

蓋耶路撒冷猶大之民、所信所行、背乎耶和華、犯天顏、干震怒、顛蹶而亡、

曰耶和華降災於巴比倫、使彼困乏、沉而不浮、有如此書、於是耶利米之言畢矣。

城邑破於陸續、帷帳毀於俄傾、遍地荒蕪。

二三日之後、彼將甦我、使我復興、與之偕生。
