“ On the day I punish Israel for her sins, I will destroy the altars of Bethel; the horns of the altar will be cut off and fall to the ground.

不但如此，他也將在伯特利的祭壇，和那使以色列人犯了罪的、尼八的兒子耶羅波安、所建築的邱壇，那祭壇和那邱壇約西亞都拆毁，把那邱壇打碎成灰去燒，將亞舍拉神木都燒掉。

撒瑪利亞的居民必因伯亞文的牛犢而恐懼戰兢；拜牛犢的人民必為牛犢而悲哀；其拜偶像的祭司必為牛犢而哀悼；他們必為它的光耀而「快樂！」因為那光耀已流亡去了。連那東西也必被帶到亞述去，做貢物獻給那大王。以法蓮必得到羞慚，以色列必因他的偶像而慚愧。撒瑪利亞嘛、她的王必滅沒，像木片在水面上。伯亞文的邱壇必被毁壞，以色列罪惡之淵藪必遭破毁；荊條和蒺藜必長起在他們的祭壇上。他們必對大山說：「遮蓋我們哦！」必對小山說：「倒在我們身上哦！」

因此在你眾族人中必起了鬨嚷，你一切有堡壘的城必被毁壞，就如沙勒幔在爭戰的日子毁壞伯亞比勒，有做母親的跟兒女一同被摔死那樣。這樣、以色列家啊，因你們之罪大惡極，你們也必受到這樣的遭遇；在風暴中、以色列的王必全然被剪除。

又在瑪拿西、以法蓮、西緬、甚至拿弗他利各城、使他們四境的廟宇荒廢。他又拆毁了祭壇，把亞舍拉神木和雕像砸碎成灰，將以色列遍地所有的香壇都砍下來，然後回耶路撒冷去。

不要尋求伯特利，不要進吉甲，不要過去到別是巴；因為吉甲真地會流亡，伯特利必變成了伯亞文。』要尋求永恆主、來活着，免得他像火衝襲着約瑟家，燒燬了伯特利，而沒有能撲滅的。

如今你去領導這人民，往我所告訴你的地方去；看吧，我的使者必在你前面引路。不過在我鑒察的日子，我還是要向他們察罰他們的罪的。』

這一切事既已作完，所有在場的以色列眾人就都出去、到猶大各城市，把崇拜柱子打碎，將亞舍拉神木砍下；又從猶大、便雅憫、以法蓮、瑪拿西遍地、將邱壇和祭壇全都拆毁；於是以色列眾人都回本城，各歸自己的地業去。

故此我必使撒瑪利亞變為野外的亂堆，作為種葡萄之處；我必將她的石頭倒在平谷中，使她的根基露出。她的雕像都必被砸碎，她的淫資財物都必被火燒掉，她的偶像、我必使它都荒廢；因為從妓女的淫資收集來的終必回復為妓女的淫資。

神人憑着永恆主的話攻擊那祭壇而喊叫、說：『壇哪，壇哪，永恆主這麼說：「大衛王室必生個兒子、名叫約西亞；他必將邱壇的祭司、就是在你上面燻祭的、宰殺在你上面；人必將人的骨頭燒在你上面。」』那一天神人指出一個兆頭說：『看吧，這壇必破裂，壇上的灰必傾撒下來：這是永恆主所說到的兆頭。』耶羅波安王聽見神人的話、就是他攻擊伯特利的壇所喊叫的話，便從壇上伸手、說：『抓住他。』王所伸要拿住神人的手就枯乾了，不能縮回來。這時壇也破裂，壇上的灰也傾撒下來，正如神人憑着永恆主的話所指出的兆頭。

我看見主站在祭壇旁；他說：『你要擊打柱頂，使門檻震動，要把其頭頂都砍掉；其餘留的、我必用刀殺掉，沒有能逃掉的，沒有一個能逃脫的。
