撒瑪利亞的居民必因伯．亞文的牛犢而懼怕；拜牛犢的人民必為它哀慟。拜牛犢的祭司必為它哀號，都因它的榮耀離開它而被擄去了。人要把它帶到亞述去，作貢物獻給那裡的大王。以法蓮必受羞辱，以色列必因自己的計謀蒙羞。至於撒瑪利亞，她與她的君王必被剪除；好像浮在水面的枯枝一般。伯．亞文的邱壇，就是以色列的罪惡，都要被拆毀；荊棘和蒺藜必在他們的祭壇上面長起來。那時人要對大山說：“遮蓋我們！”對小山說：“倒在我們身上！”

所以必有鬨嚷之聲攻擊你的眾民，你的一切城堡都必被毀壞，正如沙勒幔在爭戰的日子毀壞伯．亞比勒一般，有母親與兒女一同在那裡被摔死。伯特利啊，因你們的罪大惡極，我必這樣待你們。在風暴中，以色列的王必全然被除滅。

他又在瑪拿西、以法蓮、西緬，以至拿弗他利的各城，以及它們周圍荒廢的地方，都這樣行。他拆毀了祭壇，把亞舍拉和雕刻的偶像打碎，破碎了以色列全地所有的香壇，就回耶路撒冷去了。

不要去伯特利尋求我，不要去吉甲，也不要過去別是巴。因為吉甲必被擄掠，伯特利必化為烏有。”尋求耶和華，就必存活，免得他像火在約瑟家猛烈蔓延，吞滅他們；沒有人能把伯特利的火撲滅。

現在你去吧，領這人民到我吩咐你的地方去。看哪，我的使者必在你前面引路；只是在我追討的日子，我必追討他們的罪。”

這一切都作完了，所有在那裡的以色列人就都出去，到猶大的各城，打碎神柱，砍下亞舍拉；又在猶大、便雅憫、以法蓮和瑪拿西各地，把邱壇和祭壇完全拆毀。然後以色列眾人都各回各城，各歸自己的地業去了。

所以我必使撒瑪利亞變成田間的廢堆，作栽種葡萄之處；我必把撒瑪利亞的石頭倒在谷中，連它的根基都露出來。它一切雕刻的偶像必被打碎；它全部的錢財，都要用火燒盡；它所有的偶像，我都要毀滅；因為從妓女錢財榨取的，最後也必歸為妓女的錢財。

神人奉耶和華的命令，向那祭壇喊叫，說：“祭壇哪，祭壇哪，耶和華這樣說：‘看哪，大衛家要生一個兒子，名叫約西亞；他要把邱壇的祭司，就是在你上面燒香的，作祭物獻在你上面。人的骨頭也要在你上面焚燒。’”那天，神人提出一個兆頭，說：“這是耶和華所說的兆頭。看哪，這祭壇必破裂，祭壇上的灰必傾撒下來。”耶羅波安王聽見神人向伯特利的祭壇喊叫的話，就從祭壇上伸手，說：“抓住他！”王向他伸出的手卻癱瘓了，不能縮回來。祭壇也破裂了，灰從祭壇上傾撒下來，好像神人奉耶和華的命令所提出的預兆一樣。

我見主站在祭壇旁，他說：“擊打聖殿的柱頂，使門檻都震動。砍掉它們，落在眾人的頭上，剩下的人我必用刀殺死；沒有一個能逃走，沒有一人逃脫。
