For they know not to do right, saith Jehovah, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.

耶和華曰、彼以殘暴刧奪、所得之物、藏於其第、不知行正、

其民不知行正、在其宅第中、集不義之財、及強奪之物、

“ They do not know how to do right,” declares the Lord,“ who store up in their fortresses what they have plundered and looted.”

“ They do not know how to do what is right,” announces the Lord.“ They store up stolen goods in their forts.”

“ They do not know how to do right,” declares the Lord,“ those who store up violence and robbery in their strongholds.”

“ My people have forgotten how to do right,” says the Lord.“ Their fortresses are filled with wealth taken by theft and violence.

The people are incapable of doing right— this is the LORD’s declaration— those who store up violence and destruction in their citadels.

But they do not know how to do what is right,” declares the Lord,“ these who store up violence and devastation in their citadels.”

For they do not know to do right,’ Says the Lord,‘ Who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.’”

The people are incapable of doing right— this is the Lord’s declaration— those who store up violence and destruction in their citadels.

For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.

“ They do not know how to do what is right.”( The LORD is speaking.)“ They store up the spoils of destructive violence in their fortresses.

“ Indeed they don’t know to do right,” says Yahweh,“ Who hoard plunder and loot in their palaces.”

For my people are foolish, they know me not; they are sottish children, and they have no understanding; they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

And in that day I will punish all those that leap over the threshold, that fill their master’s house with violence and deceit.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And call not upon Jehovah?

Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole land: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off on the one side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off on the other side according to it.I will cause it to go forth, saith Jehovah of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name; and it shall abide in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.

For this they wilfully forget, that there were heavens from of old, and an earth compacted out of water and amidst water, by the word of God;

Then I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish; for they know not the way of Jehovah, nor the law of their God:

Ye who turn justice to wormwood, and cast down righteousness to the earth,

Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? that ye have turned justice into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood;

Your gold and your silver are rusted; and their rust shall be for a testimony against you, and shall eat your flesh as fire. Ye have laid up your treasure in the last days.Behold, the hire of the laborers who mowed your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth out: and the cries of them that reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.

Because thou hast plundered many nations, all the remnant of the peoples shall plunder thee, because of men’s blood, and for the violence done to the land, to the city and to all that dwell therein.Woe to him that getteth an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil!Thou hast devised shame to thy house, by cutting off many peoples, and hast sinned against thy soul.For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.
