I brought you up from the land of Egypt; I led you through the wilderness for forty years so you could take the Amorites’ land as your own.

我亦導斯民、自埃及歷曠野、凡四十年、使得亞摩哩人之地、

又領爾出伊及、在曠野導爾四十年、使爾得亞摩利人之地為業、

I brought you up out of Egypt and led you forty years in the wilderness to give you the land of the Amorites.

“ People of Israel, I brought you up out of Egypt. I led you in the desert for 40 years. I gave you the land of the Amorites.

Also it was I who brought you up out of the land of Egypt and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

It was I who rescued you from Egypt and led you through the desert for forty years, so you could possess the land of the Amorites.

And I brought you from the land of Egypt and led you forty years in the wilderness in order to possess the land of the Amorite.

And it was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, And led you in the wilderness for forty years So that you might take possession of the land of the Amorite.

Also it was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, And led you forty years through the wilderness, To possess the land of the Amorite.

Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

And I brought you from the land of Egypt and led you 40 years in the wilderness in order to possess the land of the Amorite.

Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

All along the way I, the LORD your God, have blessed your every effort. I have been attentive to your travels through this great wasteland. These forty years I have been with you; you have lacked for nothing.’”

And on this very day the LORD brought the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their regiments.

Listen, you Israelites, to this message which the LORD is proclaiming against you! This message is for the entire clan I brought up from the land of Egypt:

“ You Israelites are just like the Ethiopians in my sight,” says the LORD.“ Certainly I brought Israel up from the land of Egypt, but I also brought the Philistines from Caphtor and the Arameans from Kir.

In fact, I brought you up from the land of Egypt, I delivered you from that place of slavery. I sent Moses, Aaron, and Miriam to lead you.

For a period of about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness.

But God turned away from them and gave them over to worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets:‘ It was not to me that you offered slain animals and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, was it, house of Israel?

“ I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you from the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery.

“‘ So I brought them out of the land of Egypt and led them to the wilderness.

When you perceived that his heart was faithful toward you, you established a covenant with him to give his descendants the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, and the Girgashites. You have fulfilled your promise, for you are righteous.“ You saw the affliction of our ancestors in Egypt, and you heard their cry at the Red Sea.You performed awesome signs against Pharaoh, against his servants, and against all the people of his land, for you knew that the Egyptians had acted presumptuously against them. You made for yourself a name that is celebrated to this day.You split the sea before them, and they crossed through the sea on dry ground! But you threw their pursuers into the depths, like a stone into surging waters.You guided them with a pillar of cloud by day and with a pillar of fire by night to illumine for them the path they were to travel.

Also, your infants, who you thought would die on the way, and your children, who as yet do not know good from bad, will go there; I will give them the land and they will possess it.

Yes, he remembered the sacred promise he made to Abraham his servant.When he led his people out, they rejoiced; his chosen ones shouted with joy.

Then I said to you,“ You have come to the Amorite hill country which the LORD our God is about to give us.Look, he has placed the land in front of you! Go up, take possession of it, just as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, said to do. Do not be afraid or discouraged!”

For forty years I was continually disgusted with that generation, and I said,‘ These people desire to go astray; they do not obey my commands.’

Remember the whole way by which he has brought you these forty years through the desert so that he might, by humbling you, test you to see if you have it within you to keep his commandments or not.So he humbled you by making you hungry and then feeding you with unfamiliar manna. He did this to teach you that humankind cannot live by bread alone, but also by everything that comes from the LORD’s mouth.Your clothing did not wear out nor did your feet swell all these forty years.

For forty years you sustained them. Even in the desert they never lacked anything. Their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell.

You did miracles and amazing deeds in the land of Egypt which have had lasting effect. By this means you gained both in Israel and among humankind a renown that lasts to this day.You used your mighty power and your great strength to perform miracles and amazing deeds and to bring great terror on the Egyptians. By this means you brought your people Israel out of the land of Egypt.

I have come down to deliver them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up from that land to a land that is both good and spacious, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the region of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.

to the one who struck down the firstborn of Egypt, for his loyal love endures,and led Israel out from their midst, for his loyal love endures,

But I will bring in your little ones, whom you said would become victims of war, and they will enjoy the land that you have despised.But as for you, your dead bodies will fall in this wilderness,and your children will wander in the wilderness forty years and suffer for your unfaithfulness, until your dead bodies lie finished in the wilderness.According to the number of the days you have investigated this land, forty days– one day for a year– you will suffer for your iniquities, forty years, and you will know what it means to thwart me.I, the LORD, have said,“ I will surely do so to all this evil congregation that has gathered together against me. In this wilderness they will be finished, and there they will die!”’”
