But Peter asked them all to leave the room; then he knelt and prayed. Turning to the body he said,“ Get up, Tabitha.” And she opened her eyes! When she saw Peter, she sat up!

Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said,“ Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.

After the crowd was put outside, however, Jesus went in and took the girl by the hand, and she stood up!

He fell to his knees, shouting,“ Lord, don’t charge them with this sin!” And with that, he died.

Then Jesus took her by the hand and said in a loud voice,“ My child, get up!”

The crowd laughed at him. But he made them all leave, and he took the girl’s father and mother and his three disciples into the room where the girl was lying.Holding her hand, he said to her,“ Talitha koum,” which means“ Little girl, get up!”And the girl, who was twelve years old, immediately stood up and walked around! They were overwhelmed and totally amazed.

When Elisha arrived, the child was indeed dead, lying there on the prophet’s bed.He went in alone and shut the door behind him and prayed to the Lord.Then he lay down on the child’s body, placing his mouth on the child’s mouth, his eyes on the child’s eyes, and his hands on the child’s hands. And as he stretched out on him, the child’s body began to grow warm again!Elisha got up, walked back and forth across the room once, and then stretched himself out again on the child. This time the boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes!Then Elisha summoned Gehazi.“ Call the child’s mother!” he said. And when she came in, Elisha said,“ Here, take your son!”

He walked away, about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed,

Then Jesus shouted,“ Lazarus, come out!”And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them,“ Unwrap him and let him go!”

But Elijah replied,“ Give me your son.” And he took the child’s body from her arms, carried him up the stairs to the room where he was staying, and laid the body on his bed.Then Elijah cried out to the Lord,“ O Lord my God, why have you brought tragedy to this widow who has opened her home to me, causing her son to die?”And he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the Lord,“ O Lord my God, please let this child’s life return to him.”The Lord heard Elijah’s prayer, and the life of the child returned, and he revived!Then Elijah brought him down from the upper room and gave him to his mother.“ Look!” he said.“ Your son is alive!”

When he had finished speaking, he knelt and prayed with them.

When we returned to the ship at the end of the week, the entire congregation, including women and children, left the city and came down to the shore with us. There we knelt, prayed,

When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit.“ Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak,” he said.“ I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!”
