弟兄們，關於長眠着的人、我們不願意你們不明白，只願意你們不憂愁、不像那些沒有指望的會外人一樣。

豔麗乃虛假；美容是浮華；惟獨敬畏永恆主的婦女、才配得稱讚。願她的手所作的效果歸她享受；願她的工作在城門口稱讚她。

義人之遺跡蒙祝福；惡人的名字被咒詛。

虔誠人們收埋了司提反，為他捶胸大哭。

我若見將要死亡的人赤身無衣，或見貧窮的人毫無遮蓋，他若不由我的羊毛而得暖，而他內心若不向我祝福感恩，

因為願作的熱心若擺在前頭，蒙悅納是照所有的，不是照所無的。

我同他們在一起的時候，用你的名保守了你所給了我的人，護衛了他們，其中除了那滅亡的人、沒有一個滅亡的，正應驗了經上所說的。

因為窮人同你們在一起，是你們所常有的；至於我呢、你們卻不常有；

在我們的父上帝面前、惦念你們因信心而作的工，因愛心而受的勞苦，因盼望我們主耶穌基督而持守的堅忍。

在約帕有一個女門徒，名叫大比大，譯成希利尼話叫作多加，就是羚羊的意思。這個婦人充滿着善行和施捨、就是她所常行的。當那些日子、她患病死了；人把她洗了，安放在房頂屋裏。

她所能的、她作了；她豫先拿香膏抹了我的身體，是要豫備安葬我的事。

當這些日子、門徒一直地加多，卻有說希利尼話的猶太人唧唧咕咕地向說希伯來土話的人埋怨，說使徒們在每日的供應上忽略了他們的寡婦。

若有一個弟兄或姐妹素常赤身裸體，又缺欠每日的食物，而你們中間卻有人對他們說：『你們安心去好啦；願你們穿得暖，喫得飽』，卻沒有給他們身體上所必需的，有甚麼益處呢？信心也是這樣；若沒有行為，信心自身便是死的。

耶穌回答說：『噯，沒有信心又乖僻的世代啊，我同你們在一起要到幾時呢？我容忍你們要到幾時呢？把他帶到我這裏來吧。』

『以色列的女子啊，為掃羅哀哭哦；他曾使你們穿朱紅帶的美衣，又使你們的衣服加上黃金的妝飾。

偷竊的別再偷竊了；寧可勞苦、親手作正經事，好有敷餘、可分給缺乏的人。

我赤着身子，你們給我穿；我病了，你們看望我；我在監裏，你們來看我。」那時義人必回答他說：「主啊，我們甚麼時候見你餓了供養你？或渴了給你喝？甚麼時候見你做旅客款接你？或赤着身子給你穿？又甚麼時候見你病了或在監裏來看你呢？』

因為窮人同你們在一起、是你們所常有的；至於我呢、你們卻不常有。』

我凡事給你們做榜樣，讓你們知道應當這樣勞苦、扶助軟弱的人，記念主耶穌的話；他自己說過：「給予比接受更為有福」』。

小子們，我們愛人、別只用話語了，也別只用舌頭了，卻要用行為和真實。

凡你的手見得可作的事、你總要盡力去作；因為在你所要去的陰間、那裏沒有工作，沒有設計，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。
