But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.

But Barnabas took him to the apostles. He told them about Saul’s journey. He said that Saul had seen the Lord. He told how the Lord had spoken to Saul. Barnabas also said that Saul had preached without fear in Jesus’ name in Damascus.

有一個利未人約瑟、按籍貫是居比路人、被使徒稱為巴拿巴的（巴拿巴翻譯出來就是「鼓勵人的人」）；

如今主啊，鑒察他們的恐嚇哦，使你僕人能完全放膽無懼講你的道；

官長們見彼得約翰坦然無懼，又理會他們是沒有學問的外行人，就希奇。他們既認得他們是曾經同耶穌在一起的，

後來過了三年，我才上耶路撒冷去拜訪磯法，在他那裏停留了十五天。至於別的使徒呢、除了主的兄弟雅各、我都沒有見。

他出發往大數去尋找掃羅；

我們就同心合意、定意揀選人，差他們、同我們親愛的巴拿巴和保羅、去見你們；這兩位是為我主耶穌基督的名、不惜捨棄性命的人。

掃羅在走路，將近大馬色的時候、忽然有光從天上周圍閃爍地照射他。他就仆倒在地上，聽見有聲音對他說：『掃羅，掃羅，你為甚麼逼迫我？』他說：『先生，你是誰？』主說：『我就是你所逼迫的耶穌；你起來、進城，你所應該作的、就有人告訴你。』

亞拿尼亞就去，進了那家，給掃羅按手，說：『掃羅弟兄，在你來的路上向你顯現的主、就是耶穌、差遣我來，使你能看見，又蒙聖靈充滿。』

關於他們的事的傳言、已經到了耶路撒冷教會的人耳中，會眾就差遣巴拿巴出去，直到安提阿。

隨即在各會堂宣傳耶穌，說這位耶穌就是上帝的兒子。凡聽見的都驚奇說：『這個人豈不是那在耶路撒冷殘害呼求這名的麼？他到這裏來，豈不是要捆綁他們，帶到祭司長那裏麼？』但是掃羅卻越發得能力，駁倒住大馬色的猶太人，證明這位耶穌就是上帝所膏立的。

在保羅巴拿巴與他們之間、既起了不小的紛爭與辯論，大家就派保羅巴拿巴跟他們中間另幾個人、為了這個問題上耶路撒冷去見使徒和長老。

巴拿巴和掃羅辦完了供應信徒的事，就從耶路撒冷回來，帶着稱馬可的約翰同行。

保羅和巴拿巴卻暫時住在安提阿，同許多別人、教授並傳揚主道的福音。過了些日子，保羅對巴拿巴說；『我們總要回到從前傳布主道的各城去、看望看望弟兄們。』巴拿巴有意思也帶着稱馬可的約翰同行。保羅卻以為、把一個曾從旁非利亞離開自己、不和自己同去作工的人、帶着同行、不適當。於是起了爭執，甚至彼此分開。巴拿巴帶着馬可啓航、往居比路去；

他們事奉主禁食的時候、聖靈說：『你們總要為我將巴拿巴和掃羅分別出來，去作我所呼召他們去作的工。』

也替我求，使我在開口時、得到適當的話語，可以放膽無懼播知福音的奧祕（為了這個、我做帶鎖鍊的大使），使我在這上頭放膽無懼、照所應該講的來講。

其餘的猶太人也同他裝假，甚至巴拿巴也被他們的假裝所帶走。

又知道了主所賜給我的恩，那些有名望的柱石、雅各、磯法、約翰、就伸出團契的右手來跟我和巴拿巴握手，叫我們到外國人中間去，而他們卻到受割禮的人那裏去。

抑或是說，惟獨我和巴拿巴沒有權利不作謀生的工麼？

儘末了竟現給我看見，給我這個像未到產期就生下來的！
