But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.

But Barnabas took him to the apostles. He told them about Saul’s journey. He said that Saul had seen the Lord. He told how the Lord had spoken to Saul. Barnabas also said that Saul had preached without fear in Jesus’ name in Damascus.

有一個人名叫約瑟，使徒稱他為巴拿巴，就是“安慰者”的意思，他是個利未人，生在塞浦路斯。

主啊，他們恐嚇我們，現在求你鑒察，也賜你僕人們大有膽量，傳講你的道。

他們看見彼得和約翰的膽量，也知道這兩個人是沒有學問的平民，就很驚奇；同時認出他們是跟耶穌一夥的，

過了三年，我才上耶路撒冷去見磯法，和他住了十五天。至於其餘的使徒，除了主的弟弟雅各以外，我都沒有見過。

後來他到大數去找掃羅，

因此，我們一致同意，選派一些人跟我們親愛的巴拿巴和保羅去見你們，這兩個人為了我們主耶穌基督的名，曾經把性命置之度外。

他快到大馬士革的時候，忽然有光從天上向他四面照射。他仆倒在地，聽見有聲音對他說：“掃羅，掃羅！你為甚麼迫害我？”他說：“主啊，你是誰？”主說：“我就是你所迫害的耶穌。起來，進城去！你應當作的事，一定有人告訴你。”

亞拿尼亞就去了，進了那家，為掃羅按手，說：“掃羅弟兄，在你來的路上向你顯現的耶穌，就是主，差我來使你可以看見，又被聖靈充滿。”

這事傳到耶路撒冷教會的耳中，他們就派巴拿巴到安提阿去。

隨即在各會堂傳講耶穌，說他是神的兒子。聽見的人都很驚奇，說：“在耶路撒冷殘害求告這名的，不是這個人嗎？他來這裡不是要緝拿他們交給祭司長嗎？”然而掃羅更加有能力，駁倒住在大馬士革的猶太人，證明耶穌是基督。

保羅和巴拿巴，與他們大大地爭執辯論起來。大家就派保羅、巴拿巴和他們中間的幾個人，為這個問題上耶路撒冷去見使徒和長老。

巴拿巴和掃羅完成了送交捐項的任務，就帶著名叫馬可的約翰，從耶路撒冷回來。

保羅和巴拿巴卻住在安提阿，跟許多別的人一同教導，傳講主的道。過了一些時候，保羅對巴拿巴說：“我們要回到我們傳過主道的各城，探望弟兄們，好知道他們的情形怎麼樣。”巴拿巴有意要帶別號馬可的約翰一同去，但保羅認為不應帶他去，因為他從前在旁非利亞離開過他們，不跟他們一起去作工。他們各持己見，以致彼此分手。巴拿巴帶著馬可，坐船到塞浦路斯去；

他們事奉主，並且禁食的時候，聖靈說：“要為我把巴拿巴和掃羅分別出來，去作我呼召他們作的工。”

也要為我祈求，使我傳講的時候，得著當說的話，可以坦然無懼地講明福音的奧祕，（我為這奧祕作了被捆鎖的使者），也使我按著應當說的，放膽宣講這福音的奧祕。

其餘的猶太人也和他一同裝假，甚至連巴拿巴也受了影響，跟著他們裝假。

又知道我蒙了神的恩，那幾位被譽為柱石的雅各、磯法和約翰，就向我和巴拿巴伸出右手互相許諾，我們要到外族人那裡去傳福音，他們要到受割禮的人那裡去傳福音；

難道只有我和巴拿巴沒有權利不作工嗎？

最後也向我顯現；我好像一個未到產期而生的人。
