But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.

But Barnabas took him to the apostles. He told them about Saul’s journey. He said that Saul had seen the Lord. He told how the Lord had spoken to Saul. Barnabas also said that Saul had preached without fear in Jesus’ name in Damascus.

有一个人名叫约瑟，使徒称他为巴拿巴，就是“安慰者”的意思，他是个利未人，生在塞浦路斯。

主啊，他们恐吓我们，现在求你鉴察，也赐你仆人们大有胆量，传讲你的道。

他们看见彼得和约翰的胆量，也知道这两个人是没有学问的平民，就很惊奇；同时认出他们是跟耶稣一伙的，

过了三年，我才上耶路撒冷去见矶法，和他住了十五天。至于其余的使徒，除了主的弟弟雅各以外，我都没有见过。

后来他到大数去找扫罗，

因此，我们一致同意，选派一些人跟我们亲爱的巴拿巴和保罗去见你们，这两个人为了我们主耶稣基督的名，曾经把性命置之度外。

他快到大马士革的时候，忽然有光从天上向他四面照射。他仆倒在地，听见有声音对他说：“扫罗，扫罗！你为什么迫害我？”他说：“主啊，你是谁？”主说：“我就是你所迫害的耶稣。起来，进城去！你应当作的事，一定有人告诉你。”

亚拿尼亚就去了，进了那家，为扫罗按手，说：“扫罗弟兄，在你来的路上向你显现的耶稣，就是主，差我来使你可以看见，又被圣灵充满。”

这事传到耶路撒冷教会的耳中，他们就派巴拿巴到安提阿去。

随即在各会堂传讲耶稣，说他是神的儿子。听见的人都很惊奇，说：“在耶路撒冷残害求告这名的，不是这个人吗？他来这里不是要缉拿他们交给祭司长吗？”然而扫罗更加有能力，驳倒住在大马士革的犹太人，证明耶稣是基督。

保罗和巴拿巴，与他们大大地争执辩论起来。大家就派保罗、巴拿巴和他们中间的几个人，为这个问题上耶路撒冷去见使徒和长老。

巴拿巴和扫罗完成了送交捐项的任务，就带著名叫马可的约翰，从耶路撒冷回来。

保罗和巴拿巴却住在安提阿，跟许多别的人一同教导，传讲主的道。过了一些时候，保罗对巴拿巴说：“我们要回到我们传过主道的各城，探望弟兄们，好知道他们的情形怎么样。”巴拿巴有意要带别号马可的约翰一同去，但保罗认为不应带他去，因为他从前在旁非利亚离开过他们，不跟他们一起去作工。他们各持己见，以致彼此分手。巴拿巴带着马可，坐船到塞浦路斯去；

他们事奉主，并且禁食的时候，圣灵说：“要为我把巴拿巴和扫罗分别出来，去作我呼召他们作的工。”

也要为我祈求，使我传讲的时候，得着当说的话，可以坦然无惧地讲明福音的奥秘，（我为这奥秘作了被捆锁的使者），也使我按着应当说的，放胆宣讲这福音的奥秘。

其余的犹太人也和他一同装假，甚至连巴拿巴也受了影响，跟着他们装假。

又知道我蒙了神的恩，那几位被誉为柱石的雅各、矶法和约翰，就向我和巴拿巴伸出右手互相许诺，我们要到外族人那里去传福音，他们要到受割礼的人那里去传福音；

难道只有我和巴拿巴没有权利不作工吗？

最后也向我显现；我好像一个未到产期而生的人。
