斐理伯遂趨而就之、聞其誦先知意灑雅書、乃問之曰：『爾所誦者、果明其意乎？』

And Philip ran thither to[ him], and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

So Philip ran up to it and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. He asked him,“ Do you understand what you’re reading?”

那被撒上種子的『好土壤』是這樣的人：他聽了這話語，就領悟了，必然結出果實來，結出的有一百倍的、有六十倍的、有三十倍的。」

無論誰聽了天國的話語而不領悟，那惡者就來，把那撒在他心裡的奪走；這就是那被撒上種子的『路邊之地』。

你們查考經文，因你們以為從中可以得到永恆的生命。其實這經文就是為我做見證的。

「當你們看見藉著先知但以理所說的『那帶來毀滅的褻瀆者』站在聖地的時候——讀者應當思考——

但是在教會裡，為了要教導別人，我寧願用我的理性說五句話，也不願用殊言說萬句話。

我要在你誡命之路上奔跑，因為你使我的心舒暢！

凡是你手當做的，你都當極力去做；因為在你必去的陰間沒有工作，沒有籌劃，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

耶穌對他們說：「這就是我還與你們在一起的時候，對你們說過的話：摩西的律法、先知書和詩篇上所記的有關我的一切事，都必須應驗。」於是耶穌開啟他們的理性，使他們能領悟經上的話，

耶穌召來眾人，對他們說：「你們當聽，也當領悟：

「當你們看見『那帶來毀滅的褻瀆者』站在不該站的地方時——讀者應當思考——那時，在猶太的人應當逃到山裡；

為此，不要做愚妄的人，而要領悟主的旨意是什麼。

耶穌問他們：「這一切你們都領悟了嗎？」他們說：「是的，領悟了。」

智慧就在這裡。有理性的人應當計算這獸的數目，因為這是一個人的數目；其數目是六百六十六。

耶穌對他們說：「我的食物就是遵行那派我來者的旨意，並且完成他的工作。

腓利就起身去了。看哪，有一個埃塞俄比亞人，是個太監，是埃塞俄比亞坎蒂絲女王的大臣，統管她整個國庫。他到耶路撒冷去敬拜後，
