“ Let me have this power, too,” he exclaimed,“ so that when I lay my hands on people, they will receive the Holy Spirit!”

He spoke a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the best seats, and said to them,“ When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, don’t sit in the best seat, since perhaps someone more honorable than you might be invited by him,and he who invited both of you would come and tell you,‘ Make room for this person.’ Then you would begin, with shame, to take the lowest place.But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes, he may tell you,‘ Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at the table with you.For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”

In that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying,“ Who then is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”Jesus called a little child to himself, and set him in the middle of them,and said,“ Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn, and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

and last of all, as to the child born at the wrong time, he appeared to me also.For I am the least of the apostles, who is not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the assembly of God.

Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?

Now for some time a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and amazed all the people of Samaria. He boasted that he was someone great,and all the people, both high and low, gave him their attention and exclaimed,“ This man is rightly called the Great Power of God.”They followed him because he had amazed them for a long time with his sorcery.
