天主又予之以割禮之約；故亞伯漢既生意灑格、第八日即為之行割禮；意灑格之於雅各伯、雅各伯之於十二族祖、亦復如是。

Then he gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. And Abraham became the father of Isaac and circumcised him eight days after his birth. Later Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.

Then God made a covenant with Abraham. God told him that circumcision would show who the members of the covenant were. Abraham became Isaac’s father. He circumcised Isaac eight days after he was born. Later, Isaac became Jacob’s father. Jacob had 12 sons. They became the founders of the 12 tribes of Israel.

And he gave him the covenant of circumcision. And so Abraham became the father of Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighth day, and Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob of the twelve patriarchs.

“ God also gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision at that time. So when Abraham became the father of Isaac, he circumcised him on the eighth day. And the practice was continued when Isaac became the father of Jacob, and when Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs of the Israelite nation.

And so he gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. After this, he fathered Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day. Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.

And He gave him the covenant of circumcision; and so Abraham fathered Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighth day; and Isaac fathered Jacob, and Jacob, the twelve patriarchs.

And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so[ Abraham] begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac[ begat] Jacob; and Jacob[ begat] the twelve patriarchs.

Then God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision, and so he became the father of Isaac and circumcised him when he was eight days old, and Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob of the twelve patriarchs.

上帝諭亞伯拉罕曰、爾與後裔、宜守我約、歷世勿替、爾中男子、咸宜受割、即我賜爾及爾後裔、所必守之約、爾必受割、為我與爾立約之徵、爾歷世男子、或生於爾家、或購自異邦、非爾苗裔、既生八日、皆必受割、家所生者、金所購者、俱必受割、我約加於爾躬、以為永約、惟男子不受割者、是背我約、必絕之民中、○

雅各有子十二、長子流便、及西緬、利未、猶大、以薩迦、西布倫、乃利亞所出、約瑟、便雅憫、乃拉結所出、但、拿弗他利、乃拉結婢辟拉所出、迦得、亞設、乃利亞婢悉帕所出、是皆雅各於巴旦亞蘭所生者、

由伯特利而徙、去以法他無幾、拉結臨產甚艱、

兄弟乎、我試以先祖大衛、侃侃語爾、彼死而葬、其墓存於我中、以迄今日、

其所許之言云、屆期我至、撒拉必生子、不第此也、利百加由我祖以撒而妊、二子未生、善惡未形、俾上帝選人之旨不移、非由乎行、乃由乎召之者、遂諭利百加曰、長子必事幼子、如經云、我愛雅各、而惡以掃、○

何以為義、在割乎、抑在未割乎、非在割、乃在未割也、

兄弟乎、我依常情而言、人之約既定、則無得增減之、

試思先祖亞伯拉罕、以所獲之極品什一贈之、其人之尊為何如耶、

拉結臨死、魂將逝時、名其子曰便俄尼而死、惟其父命名便雅憫、

夫摩西授爾割禮、然非由摩西、乃由列祖、故安息日、爾行割於人、

以色列子、各攜眷屬、偕雅各至埃及者、其名如左、流便、西緬、利未、猶大、以薩迦、西布倫、便雅憫、但、拿弗他利、迦得、亞設、

我謂上帝預立之約、非四百三十年後之律所能廢、使所許者為虛、
