‘ And the nation to whom they will be in bondage I will judge,’ said God,‘ and after that they shall come out and serve Me in this place.’

惟天主又曰：「奴待若輩之國、吾當懲之、嗣後若輩將被解放、而事我於斯土。」

But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves,’ God said,‘ and afterward they will come out of that country and worship me in this place.’

But I will punish the nation that makes them slaves,’ God said.‘ After that, they will leave that country and worship me here.’( Genesis 15:13, 14)

‘ But I will judge the nation that they serve,’ said God,‘ and after that they shall come out and worship me in this place.’

‘ But I will punish the nation that enslaves them,’ God said,‘ and in the end they will come out and worship me here in this place.’

I will judge the nation that they will serve as slaves, God said. After this, they will come out and worship me in this place.

‘ And whatever nation to which they are enslaved I Myself will judge,’ said God,‘ and after that they will come out and serve Me in this place.’

And the nation to which they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.

I will judge the nation that they will serve as slaves, God said. After this, they will come out and worship Me in this place.

‘ I will judge the nation to which they will be in bondage,’ said God,‘ and after that they will come out, and serve me in this place.’

So He said,“ I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

For God is my King from of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea serpents in the waters.You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces, And gave him as food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

To Him who struck Egypt in their firstborn, For His mercy endures forever;And brought out Israel from among them, For His mercy endures forever;With a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm, For His mercy endures forever;To Him who divided the Red Sea in two, For His mercy endures forever;And made Israel pass through the midst of it, For His mercy endures forever;But overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea, For His mercy endures forever;

When He worked His signs in Egypt, And His wonders in the field of Zoan;Turned their rivers into blood, And their streams, that they could not drink.He sent swarms of flies among them, which devoured them, And frogs, which destroyed them.He also gave their crops to the caterpillar, And their labor to the locust.He destroyed their vines with hail, And their sycamore trees with frost.He also gave up their cattle to the hail, And their flocks to fiery lightning.He cast on them the fierceness of His anger, Wrath, indignation, and trouble, By sending angels of destruction among them.He made a path for His anger; He did not spare their soul from death, But gave their life over to the plague,And destroyed all the firstborn in Egypt, The first of their strength in the tents of Ham.

He destroyed the firstborn of Egypt, Both of man and beast.He sent signs and wonders into the midst of you, O Egypt, Upon Pharaoh and all his servants.

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord! Awake as in the ancient days, In the generations of old. Are You not the arm that cut Rahab apart, And wounded the serpent?Are You not the One who dried up the sea, The waters of the great deep; That made the depths of the sea a road For the redeemed to cross over?

So the Lord said to Moses:“ See, I have made you as God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.You shall speak all that I command you. And Aaron your brother shall tell Pharaoh to send the children of Israel out of his land.And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt.But Pharaoh will not heed you, so that I may lay My hand on Egypt and bring My armies and My people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch out My hand on Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.”Then Moses and Aaron did so; just as the Lord commanded them, so they did.And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh.Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,“ When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying,‘ Show a miracle for yourselves,’ then you shall say to Aaron,‘ Take your rod and cast it before Pharaoh, and let it become a serpent.’”So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, just as the Lord commanded. And Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent.But Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers; so the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.For every man threw down his rod, and they became serpents. But Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.And Pharaoh’s heart grew hard, and he did not heed them, as the Lord had said.So the Lord said to Moses:“ Pharaoh’s heart is hard; he refuses to let the people go.

And also the nation whom they serve I will judge; afterward they shall come out with great possessions.Now as for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried at a good old age.But in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”

They performed His signs among them, And wonders in the land of Ham.He sent darkness, and made it dark; And they did not rebel against His word.He turned their waters into blood, And killed their fish.Their land abounded with frogs, Even in the chambers of their kings.He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, And lice in all their territory.He gave them hail for rain, And flaming fire in their land.He struck their vines also, and their fig trees, And splintered the trees of their territory.He spoke, and locusts came, Young locusts without number,And ate up all the vegetation in their land, And devoured the fruit of their ground.He also destroyed all the firstborn in their land, The first of all their strength.

“ You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, And heard their cry by the Red Sea.You showed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, Against all his servants, And against all the people of his land. For You knew that they acted proudly against them. So You made a name for Yourself, as it is this day.And You divided the sea before them, So that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; And their persecutors You threw into the deep, As a stone into the mighty waters.
