Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him—

Was there ever a prophet your people didn’t try to hurt? They even killed those who told about the coming of the Blameless One. And now you have handed him over to his enemies. You have murdered him.

Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whom you have now betrayed and murdered,

是宜歡欣踴躍、灑然而樂。蓋爾之天爵大矣。前輩先知被人迫辱、亦猶是耳。

斯輩猶太人既殘殺主耶穌基督及眾先知、又復逐我同人、實天主之逆子、而人類之公敵也。

哀哉爾曹！蓋爾建先知之塋、而殺先知者、正爾祖也。祖殺先知、而爾築其墓足徵爾實默認乃祖之所為矣。因此天主之妙慧、曾作警言曰：「予遣先知宗徒於若輩有為所害、有為所辱、故自有世以來、眾先知所流之血、咸將歸於斯代。」予誡語爾自亞伯之血、以至被害於殿壇間者撒迦利亞之血、悉將歸咎於斯代也。

實則爾已自證為殺先知者之後矣。乃祖惡貫、爾其盈之！嗟爾虺蝮之種將何以逃於地獄之刑乎？是故吾遣先知哲人經師於爾、爾或刃之釘之、或鞭之於會堂、逐之於諸邑、庶幾凡世上所流義血、自義者亞伯之血、以至殿臺間被殺者巴辣基子襍加理之血、皆歸於爾。吾誠告爾、凡此諸端、咸將歸責於斯代矣。耶路撒冷乎、嗟爾殘殺先知、石擊天主星使之耶路撒冷乎！吾之欲集爾子女、如牝雞之覆翼其雛者、不已頻乎？而爾終莫之許也。

渠又曰：「吾祖之天主已賜汝恩簡、使汝得明厥旨獲見聖者、親聞其音；

而爾曹則擯絕之於比辣多之前者也。爾曹擯絕神聖之義者、而求釋兇暴；爾曹殘殺生命之主、而天主則已使之起死回生吾儕實為其證。

彼按天主之定謨及預知、被付於人而爾曹復假不義者之手、釘死之於十字架上；

蓋基督神靈、啟迪先知之衷、故彼等能逆知基督之先苦後樂、與夫其事之成於何時何世。

自撒母耳以至諸先知所作預言、亦未嘗不預報斯日。

天主早藉先知之口、預言基督必將蒙難、事已見應；

雖然今日明日後日、必須奮赴前程；先知固不宜死於耶路撒冷外。『耶路撒冷乎！殘殺先知、石擊天主使臣之耶路撒冷乎！吾之欲集汝兒女、若牝禽之覆翼其雛者、不已頻乎！而汝終莫之許也！

爾其寓書於斐拉代非教會之守護天神曰：彼至聖至真掌握大維之管籥所啟無人能閉、所閉無人能啟者、有所曉諭於爾：

吾乃俯伏而拜之、彼止之曰：「慎莫為此！我與爾及信奉耶穌妙證之眾兄弟、皆屬同寅；爾當敬拜天主耳。蓋耶穌之妙證、實為一切預言之靈樞。」

則爾與義塞民當知納匝勒人耶穌基督、即爾曹所釘於十字架者、天主已賜以復活。此人之所以能獲康復而挺立於爾前者、賴耶穌之名也。

『吾未嚴禁爾曹勿復奉斯名而教人乎？今則反以其道徧傳耶路撒冷、豈欲以其人之血歸諸吾身乎？』伯鐸祿及諸宗徒對曰：『順主而不徇人、理所當然。被爾懸木而殉之耶穌、已為吾祖之天主所復活；

園戶執之、擊其一、殺其一、更以石斃其一。主乃遣他僕往索、其人數倍於前；園戶處之如故。最後乃使其子往取、意謂必尊吾子矣。孰意園戶一見其子、乃共議曰：「斯乃厥嗣、我等盍共殺之、可佔其產：」於是執而殺之葡萄園外。爾思園主歸時、將如何處此園戶乎？』曰：『必殲此惡類、而以葡萄園另租良農、俾得按時收菓。』
