And David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed- edom into the city of David with joy.And it was so, that, when they that bare the ark of Jehovah had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling.And David danced before Jehovah with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of Jehovah with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.And it was so, as the ark of Jehovah came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before Jehovah; and she despised him in her heart.And they brought in the ark of Jehovah, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt- offerings and peace- offerings before Jehovah.And when David had made an end of offering the burnt- offering and the peace- offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Jehovah of hosts.And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to every one a cake of bread, and a portion of flesh, and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed every one to his house.Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to- day, who uncovered himself to- day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!And David said unto Michal, It was before Jehovah, who chose me above thy father, and above all his house, to appoint me prince over the people of Jehovah, over Israel: therefore will I play before Jehovah.And I will be yet more vile than this, and will be base in mine own sight: but of the handmaids of whom thou hast spoken, of them shall I be had in honor.And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

And they brought up the ark of Jehovah, and the tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; even these did the priests and the Levites bring up.

He drove out the nations also before them, And allotted them for an inheritance by line, And made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.

For the tabernacle of Jehovah, which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of burnt- offering, were at that time in the high place at Gibeon.

So the people sent to Shiloh; and they brought from thence the ark of the covenant of Jehovah of hosts, who sitteth above the cherubim: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.And Jehovah said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.

So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the peoples of the land, that they might do with them as they would.

Get thee up into this mountain of Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession;

For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.

Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into the Jordan.Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, for every tribe a man.And it shall come to pass, when the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of Jehovah, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, even the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand in one heap.And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over the Jordan, the priests that bare the ark of the covenant being before the people;and when they that bare the ark were come unto the Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brink of the water( for the Jordan overfloweth all its banks all the time of harvest),that the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap, a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of Jehovah stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel passed over on dry ground, until all the nation were passed clean over the Jordan.

So they set them up Micah’s graven image which he made, all the time that the house of God was in Shiloh.
