I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their groaning, and I have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send you to Egypt.’

我誠見吾民在埃及之苦、且聞其慨歎、故臨以拯之、今來、吾將遣爾入埃及也、

我民在埃及者、我見其苦、常聞嘅歎之聲、故臨拯之、往哉、我遣爾之埃及也、

我民在伊及、我見其困苦、聞其歎息、故我降臨以救之、今爾來、我遣爾往伊及、

吾民在埃及備受酷虐、苦楚萬狀、余已目睹、並聞其呼籲與悲嗟之聲、故余乃降臨而振救之、使出於水火之中。來、余將遣汝仍返埃及。」

I have indeed seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free. Now come, I will send you back to Egypt.’

Then the Lord said,“ I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings,and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

Nevertheless, he looked upon their distress, when he heard their cry.

During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God.And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.God saw the people of Israel— and God knew.

For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.

God said to Moses,“ I am who I am.” And he said,“ Say this to the people of Israel:‘ I am has sent me to you.’”

“ And you saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt and heard their cry at the Red Sea,

I will go down to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry that has come to me. And if not, I will know.”

No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.

And the people believed; and when they heard that the Lord had visited the people of Israel and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed their heads and worshiped.

And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built.

Whenever the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge, and he saved them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge. For the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who afflicted and oppressed them.

For he said,“ Surely they are my people, children who will not deal falsely.” And he became their Savior.In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.

For I brought you up from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

And the people of Israel said to the Lord,“ We have sinned; do to us whatever seems good to you. Only please deliver us this day.”So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord, and he became impatient over the misery of Israel.

Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the people of Israel whom the Egyptians hold as slaves, and I have remembered my covenant.Say therefore to the people of Israel,‘ I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from slavery to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment.

He sent Moses, his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen.

By a prophet the Lord brought Israel up from Egypt, and by a prophet he was guarded.

Bow your heavens, O Lord, and come down! Touch the mountains so that they smoke!

Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at your presence—

And I will come down and talk with you there. And I will take some of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them, and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, so that you may not bear it yourself alone.

Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.”
