The twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said,“ It is not appropriate for us to forsake the word of God and serve tables.

So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said,“ It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.

So the 12 apostles gathered all the believers together. They said,“ It wouldn’t be right for us to give up teaching God’s word. And we’d have to stop teaching to wait on tables.

And the twelve summoned the full number of the disciples and said,“ It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables.

So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said,“ We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program.

The Twelve summoned the whole company of the disciples and said,“ It would not be right for us to give up preaching the word of God to wait on tables.

So the twelve summoned the congregation of the disciples and said,“ It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables.

Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said,“ It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables.

And the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not fit that we should forsake the word of God, and serve tables.

Then the Twelve summoned the whole company of the disciples and said,“ It would not be right for us to give up preaching about God to handle financial matters.

Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples[ unto them], and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

So the twelve called the whole group of the disciples together and said,“ It is not right for us to neglect the word of God to wait on tables.

Moses’ father- in- law said to him,“ The thing that you do is not good.You will surely wear away, both you, and this people that is with you; for the thing is too heavy for you. You are not able to perform it yourself alone.Listen now to my voice. I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You represent the people before God, and bring the causes to God.You shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and shall show them the way in which they must walk, and the work that they must do.Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men which fear God: men of truth, hating unjust gain; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.Let them judge the people at all times. It shall be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they shall judge themselves. So shall it be easier for you, and they shall share the load with you.If you will do this thing, and God commands you so, then you will be able to endure, and all these people also will go to their place in peace.”So Moses listened to the voice of his father- in- law, and did all that he had said.Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.They judged the people at all times. They brought the hard cases to Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.

I spoke to you at that time, saying,“ I am not able to bear you myself alone.Yahweh your God has multiplied you, and behold, you are today as the stars of the sky for multitude.Yahweh, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as you are and bless you, as he has promised you!How can I myself alone bear your problems, your burdens, and your strife?Take wise men of understanding who are respected among your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.”You answered me, and said,“ The thing which you have spoken is good to do.”

No soldier on duty entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.

Moses said to Yahweh,“ Why have you treated your servant so badly? Why haven’t I found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people on me?Have I conceived all this people? Have I brought them out, that you should tell me,‘ Carry them in your bosom, as a nurse carries a nursing infant, to the land which you swore to their fathers?’Where could I get meat to give all these people? For they weep before me, saying,‘ Give us meat, that we may eat.’

I sent messengers to them, saying,“ I am doing a great work, so that I can’t come down. Why should the work cease, while I leave it, and come down to you?”

For it seems to me unreasonable, in sending a prisoner, not to also specify the charges against him.”

What then? The assembly must certainly meet, for they will hear that you have come.

But Peter and John answered them,“ Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,
