你們在外邦人中，要有良好的品行；這樣，當他們誹謗你們是作惡之人的時候，因看到你們美好的行為，就在神臨到的日子榮耀神。

你們如果因基督的名受責罵，就是蒙福的，因為榮耀的靈，就是神的靈，住在你們身上。你們當中不可有人因殺人、偷竊、作惡、好管閒事而受苦；但如果有人因為是基督徒而受苦，他不應該感到羞恥，反要奉這名來榮耀神；

西面祝福他們，並對孩子的母親瑪麗亞說：「看哪，這孩子註定要使以色列中許多人跌倒、許多人興起，並要成為一個遭受反對的標記，

不過要以溫柔、敬畏的心答覆，並且持守無愧的良心，以致誰詆毀你們在基督裡的良好品行，誰就要在你們受到誹謗的事上蒙羞。

把兩個人帶到官長們面前，說：「這些人是猶太人，在擾亂我們的城市，傳講我們羅馬人不可以接受、也不能遵守的規矩。」

可是找不到他們，就把耶森和幾位弟兄拉到地方官們那裡，喊叫說：「這些攪亂天下的，也來到這裡，耶森竟接待了他們！這些人都違背了凱撒的諭令，說另外有一個王，就是耶穌。」

我們發現這個人像瘟疫一樣，煽動普天下猶太人暴亂；他又是拿撒勒人教派的一個頭目。他甚至試圖玷汙聖殿，我們就把他拘捕了。我們本來想按照我們的律法審判他，

實際上，你們當中必定也會有結派的事，好讓那些經過考驗的人在你們中間能顯露出來。

但法利賽教派中的一些信徒站起來，說：「必須給外邦人行割禮，並吩咐他們遵守摩西的律法。」

於是大祭司就採取行動。他和所有與他在一起的人，就是撒都該教派的人，都滿腔嫉妒，

他們從一開始就已經認識我，如果他們願意就可以見證：我是按著我們宗教中最嚴格的教派，過著法利賽人的生活。
